How much do you weigh at 5ft9/10?

Namechangepleas · 21/07/2022 11:20

I've recently lost a fair bit of weight about 5 stone since November 21.
I'm now just under 12 stone at 5ft10 but I still feel so fat and overweight. I think I've developed body dysmorphia since loosing weight.

If you're tall like me how much do you weigh and what clothes size are you?
I need to know what's normal for my height.

I am the same height and 75kg

Fabswingers · 21/07/2022 11:22

5 stone!!! Bloody hell I think you’re underplaying how big of an achievement that is!

Obviously keep going with the weight loss as it’s just a healthier life style choice and I can’t help you with the weight/height thing but don’t undersell yourself.

5.1ft
8 stone

Holly763 · 21/07/2022 11:24

I'm 5ft 8 and a size 10. I don't weigh myself anymore as I get obsessed. Don't worry about the numbers go with how you feel and what fits you. I'm watching what I eat at the moment as my jeans are getting a bit tight. No point weighing myself as it will depress the F out of me.

MarthanotMarfa · 21/07/2022 11:26

I’m almost an inch taller than you and heavier (quite a bit!). The NHS bmi calculator also gives a range for weight and I find it very useful as you can see the broad range and as long as you stay in the healthy weight you don’t need to worry. 12 stone is not heavy at your height - concentrate now on shifting to health/fitness not weight.

SweatyAndGrumpy · 21/07/2022 11:28

I've recently lost a fair bit of weight about 5 stone since November 21.

That is a massive, massive amount of weight in a very short space of time. I think we can underestimate what impact that kind of large scale change can have on our psychology. It's perhaps no wonder your mind is still stuck at 'I'm too fat' when the change has happened so quickly it's not had time to really register it.

Is it worth spending some time not trying to lose anymore but just 'being' at your current weight to allow your mind to settle into your new body? See how you feel this time next year having lived a year at your current weight - see if your mind doesn't catch up a bit and if the break won't give you chance to be your new slimmer self without the hyper focus on food and weight that comes with large loss in short time?

RenegadeMrs · 21/07/2022 11:29

I'm about an inch and a half taller than you at 181cm. I currently weigh 13 stone 8 and size 16 (actually a size 16, not squeezing into stuff like I was before I lost some weight recently). I've lost 1 stone 11 recently and have a target of 12 stone 2 lbs.

5 stone is a fantastic achievement, well done! At 12 stone and 5ft 10 you are a healthy BMI, so very much doubt you look fat and overweight, despite how you might feel. I do think it takes a while for the brain to catch up with the body when you loose weight. I assume you've had to buy new clothes with a 5 stone loss so are not still hiding under baggy clothes that are too big for you?

DelurkingAJ · 21/07/2022 11:30

74kg, 5’10”. I’d quite like to drop to 70kg but not enough to diet and I’m in the healthy range so…I wear size 12 pretty universally.

AnyFucker · 21/07/2022 11:30

I am 5ft 10, weigh around 10.5 stones and am a size 10-12

PJ04JCW · 21/07/2022 11:34

5'10, 73kg, size 10/12, age 43.
I felt my best at 68kg but too lazy/greedy to do anything about it!

ItsSnowJokes · 21/07/2022 11:34

Go on measurements. Weight just messes with your head. Measure waist, bust, hips, arms, thighs etc........

CrimsonAlligator · 21/07/2022 11:37

I weigh 74 kg/ 11 stone 9. I’m a size 12, sometimes a 10.

People can look quite different at the same weight & height though. A lot of it comes down to how muscular you are and where you store fat.

Do you exercise at all? I’ve found that that has made a huge difference in how I feel about my body. I don’t really care that it’s a bit soft in places. I’m simply in awe that it can do things I never thought it’d be capable of. For me that’s a lot more important than the number on the scales 💪

Holly763 · 21/07/2022 11:38

Also clothes size etc is subjective. For instance I need to weigh less than my sister to fit into a size 10 because I have an hour glass figure and a big bum. My sister is naturally up and down and looks thinner than me even though we both wear a size 10. We are the same height as well. Just go off how you feel and what fits x

itssquidstella · 21/07/2022 11:39

I'm 5'11". Pre-pregnancy I weighed 67-68kg (preferred being 67). No idea what I am now, eight weeks post-partum: probably just over 70 but lacking tone. Looking forward to getting down to 67kg and getting my abs back!

Chazx · 26/07/2022 09:16

Just over 5ft 8. I'm exactly 10 stone but sometimes 9 st 12, dress size 12 or 14 and carry it all on waist mid section despite weight loss, it still sits on top of hips giving me a nice square arse🤣🤣

I've lost 2 st 6 lbs recently, since Feb 22 and still feel that I have fat to lose around middle so am trying to exercise. Desperately trying to change my sugar cravings and sustain/create a more sensible approach to nutrition and stop filling up on junk.

Don't worry about weight too much. Finally, i've started to think that dress size and weight on scales is less important!

Look at calorie deficit, changing eating habits, body fat percentage if you can get it measured at your gym and look at how clothes feel on you.

PinkDaffodil2 · 26/07/2022 09:19

I’m the same height and 10 stone - but I’m naturally slim and I’ve never been overweight which makes it easier to maintain. I was about 11 stone for a year or so after my daughter was born and didn’t feel overweight then. I think 12 stone is a good weight, and massive well done on the weight loss.

undecided112 · 26/07/2022 09:21

I'm 5'8/9. Size 10. 65kg.

5 stone is a massive massive amount of weight to lose! Well done you.

Redcrayons · 26/07/2022 09:26

I’m 5’10 and weigh 11’3 as of yesterday morning. I’m a size 12 in most shops. I exercise quite a lot and try to watch calorie intake using MFP.
Id like to get back to my pre lockdown weight of 10.5 as most of clothes are a bit tight at the moment.

5 stone since November is a massive fan achievement. You must look so different.

Mumtobe4675 · 26/07/2022 09:31

5”9 and 9 stone but I have always been slim size 10!

LindaEllen · 26/07/2022 09:34

I'm 14st 10 at the moment, currently on slimming world and lost 8lbs so far.

I used to be 22st and went down to 10st, and maintained for a decade, until covid turned up.

Then I snacked my way through lockdown and here we are.

CrunchyCarrot · 26/07/2022 09:38

I'm 5'10 1/2 " and weigh 65 kg. I am not happy with the extra flab on my belly and am currently working to lose it! My ideal weight is around 60 kg - I'm naturally thin. My clothes size is 14 or sometimes 16, as I'm very broad shouldered long-waisted.

Ray92 · 30/07/2022 23:49

I'm your height and have been 9st at my lowest and 17st at heaviest.

9st with a 26 inch waist and wearing a size 10. I did not look good.
13st with a 28 inch waist wearing a 12. Looked my best with good muscle definition from doing weights.
Currently 16st 10 weeks postpartum with a 33 inch waist, wearing a 16.Looking very soft and round!
I go off body fat and waist more than BMI.

I also have a friend our height who weighs 11st 7 and she looks tiny! So if you are looking in the mirror and not seeing a slim person, you probably are suffering with body dysmorphia.
