I have decided that enough is enough. So fed up with carrying two stone of lard. It is especially bad with the hot weather.

Im looking for company.

Will weigh myself in a bit and report back.

I'll support you. You can weigh in every week and I'll heap praise on you.
I'm not 'dieting' as such, but I do try.
I know that feeling of enough is enough though. About 15 years ago, I was my heaviest, 14st 7. (I'm 5ft 6). I felt dreadful. I did lose about 2 and a half stone, but I'm happiest ( in that I can sustain it), at about 12st 10.
Starting today is best, make a few small changes but mostly, no negative talk !
You can do it 💪

Hello, I'll support you!

I lost a stone earlier this year then ate all the junk food in the world and put it almost all back on.

Started on Monday, just making better food choices (had watermelon, blueberries and a little bit of cheese for breakfast instead of toast) for 2 days, and lovely salads for lunch and tea.

I've also been given a cross trainer by a friend so am doing 20 minutes a day on that.

@Amdone123 that is brilliant to read, Im currently 14 st 3. My ideal is getting into the 11s but I would be very happy to see 12 on the scales.

Amdone123 · 12/07/2022 08:15

@Glenthebattleostrich , that's great to hear you lost a stone before - it means you can do it again.
I can't eat fruit for breakfast ! I can eat salad ( rocket, tomatoes, avocado, cheese), but fruit just doesn't fill me up. But I have my tea about 6pm then I don't eat til 10am the following morning, so it's no wonder I need bread.

HerbErtlinger · 12/07/2022 08:15

I'm starting today too although I have far more to lose (8st) which is pretty shameful. To be honest, my plan is to just focus on one day at a time

Amdone123 · 12/07/2022 08:18

@HerbErtlinger , morning ! Try to do it in half stones, rather than thinking about the whole lot. You're right in your one day at a time approach. Do you weigh yourself or have you joined a club like slimming world ?

poetscorner7 · 12/07/2022 08:20

Hi everyone, thanks for posting.

My plan is one day at a time and half a stone at a time.

Just off to weigh myself.

Weighing once a week and calorie counting

lastyrfat · 12/07/2022 08:31

I will join you! I started slimming world nearly 2 weeks ago and just can't get my head in the game. I paid for 12 weeks in advance so been to see some progress. 4st 10 to lose. Drawing a line under it and starting again today. Weigh in is tomorrow night!

poetscorner7 · 12/07/2022 08:32

Ok so my starting weight is bang on 11 stone. I'm not very tall, 5'4 and the majority of my surplus weight is on my stomach and back side.

poetscorner7 · 12/07/2022 08:43

@lastyrfat well done for starting again today.

I keep putting it off and putting it off. It's ridiculous the amount of junk I eat. I'm going to try really hard.

Not feeling very positive, so hoping this thread will help me to stay focussed.

@lastyrfat , morning. It's good you've paid for 12 weeks, it will make you more determined. If you can't get your head around the plan, just eat properly, do it your way but use the club to get weighed. That's the important bit anyway. I follow slimming world ( loosely !), but some of it I dislike ( mug shots, processed stuff ), but I like the meal ideas ( overnight oats, pancakes, cooking from scratch). You can do it. Just don't give up if you have a blip.
@poetscorner7 , what is your target? Will you aim for a couple of pounds a week?

Amdone123 · 12/07/2022 08:50

@poetscorner7 , a week today you'll be 10st something, so keep that in mind ! @lastyrfat , I hate being weighed ( even if I've had a great week), but if you get weighed tomorrow, you'll know where you are.

poetscorner7 · 12/07/2022 08:53

@Amdone123 I would like to be 9 stone. I will be happy with 1 pound a week as long as it's going in the right direction.

Aw thank you for the warm welcome! I start a new job in September..... going from 6 hrs sitting on my bum to 6 hours of wandering round a building all day...... need to get my first stone off by then or else my knees won't let me do the job. Also hoping the additional activity will help boost the weight loss!

Glenthebattleostrich · 12/07/2022 09:57

If i can do half a stone a month I'll be very happy. I do find that exercise leads my weight loss, it makes me want to eat healthier and fuel my body properly.

@lastyrfat I start my new job i. September too. Going from childminding to working in a school. What are you going to do?

lastyrfat · 13/07/2022 19:25

So just got back from weigh in and to say my head was not in the game I am glad to report a half pound weight loss this week. I'm so happy it wasn't a gain as that would have taken me back to starting weight or possibly over!

Group leader has set me a 2lb target for next week so here goes!

How is everyone doing in this heat?

Amdone123 · 13/07/2022 19:28

@lastyrfat , that's good. It's a loss and you went and faced it, so well done. 2lb off next week - you can do it.

lastyrfat · 13/07/2022 19:42

@Glenthebattleostrich also a new job in a school..... finally scored a job with a great school as a TA. Its taken me 2 years to finally get a school to give me a chance. I have 10 years experience working with kids (was also a childminder for 4 of those years) but kept being met with "not enough experience". I'm so excited. I started an admin job last September and I hate it so I'm excited to start at the school. What will you be doing?

lastyrfat · 13/07/2022 19:45

@Amdone123 I was so tempted not to go to be honest but I'm glad I did...... here's to that 2lb off!

Glenthebattleostrich · 13/07/2022 21:46

Congratulations @lastyrfat that's brilliant for you. Im going to be admin and first aider at a high school. Ive done a couple of Fridays and bloody love it!

Ive had a goodish day today. Lots of water, lots of fruit and managed 20 minutes on the cross trainer before work and 10000 steps so far! Got the dogs last walk to do too.

Tummy bloat is going down and feeling lots better already. More energy and just perkier.

How is everyone else doing?

Amdone123 · 14/07/2022 04:44

@Glenthebattleostrich , that's a brilliant start. You can get 7lbs off a month with that approach. It's amazing how good you can feel with a few changes ! Keep going 💪
