Cambridge 1:1 diet

I started this on Sunday, it's so hard! It's the light headedness and constant spaced out feeling I can't bare. The products are fine and tasty, cravings aren't an issue. It's purely feeling on the edge of passing out that feels so hideous. Anyone else? Does it improve? Help!

Have you tried the ready made apple and kiwi chilled ? I'm craving food today but has been that time of month so just trying to ignore and drink water 😭

carbibarbie · 10/07/2022 23:29

Have you seen the pop squares? They're basically healthy crisps and you can have them on top of your normal products. They keep me on track so much. I have to admit to a cheeky Diet Coke and a bag of those most nights! I know Diet Coke isn't allowed, theory being that it might knock you out of keto but from counting the rough macros in this diet, there's no way it is proper keto anyway. I think keto is like 50g or less carbs and this seems to be around 120g carb some days more! Does anyone know why they talk of keto when it likely isn't?

(Forgot the 'some days more' than 120g carbs, it seems max 115g carbs for 4 products and pop squares = still too high for keto)

@carbibarbie no I'll have to look out for those ones x

twigy100 · 12/07/2022 12:27

How's everyone's week going ? I don't seem to be losing at all even though I'm on plan I don't know if my body is retaining water due to heat

newtb · 12/07/2022 12:52

Slim and save is much the same thing, and a lot cheaper.

Incidentally, I knew the obesity specialist that developed it along with John Howard. He gave it to his patients at Hope in Salford. His wife was one of the first counsellors. He was totally against weight loss surgery and, sadly, that's all his old clinic now offers.

carbibarbie · 12/07/2022 21:08

@newtb do the products taste similar? Sounds very interesting xx

How's everyone getting on? I've only lost 2 pounds this week. Feel a bit gutted! How only 2 pounds on 4 piddly packets of food a day? Weep!

Very similar, but from memory so not sure how accurate. I stick at a certain weight on Cambridge but got down 15kg lower on slim and save. After a certain point, also, you get bonus discounts which make it cheaper.

I loved to porridges, especially the banoffi one. The bars were good, but went off the white choc coated strawberry and lemon ones. Annoyingly from time to time they stop certain ones. There was a rhubarb one I loved.

They also do a sample pack of 21 different flavours which gives a good idea. The only one I just couldn't stomach was the 4 cheese pasta - it made the smell of sweaty stale parmesan seem like ambrosia, but perhaps that's just me.

Sadly, it's one of the casualties of brexit. I live in France, 600km south of Calais, and they no longer ship to France. It's a bugger! Thinking of the cost of tolls, diesel, ferry not to mention bringing it back through customs is rather discouraging.

twigy100 · 16/07/2022 19:35

I've stated the same this week but with a mixture of period and the heat I think my body has retained water as feeling bloated. We're camping this week so going to enjoy myself as best as I can

carbibarbie · 16/07/2022 21:33

@twigy100 remind me how much you've lost already? X

OP posts:
twigy100 · 17/07/2022 08:10

@carbibarbie 1 stone in 3 weeks now x

carbibarbie · 17/07/2022 09:06

@twigy100 that's amazing! And you're doing Step 2 are you? 9 pounds in 2 weeks, I don't think I can lose 5 this week but would love to! What did you lose each week if you don't mind me asking x

@carbibarbie sorry on holiday this week and signal is a bit hit and miss, I love 6.5 in week1 and 7.75 in week 2, nothing in week 3. I'm not getting weighed in till next Friday now but expecting a gain unfortunately on top of holiday treats so be also had the migraine from hell so all I've wanted is carbs

CampervanKween · 24/07/2022 21:38

Hi there. Can I join in please? I started this a week ago having done it a year or so ago.

I have lost 7lbs in the first week. Expecting the weight loss to slow down now. I'm doing 3 products but with some protein as well. I have a smoothie around 11am to which I add ice and fat free yoghurt to bulk it out into a long drink. Then I have a soup around 2pm, some lean protein at 5pm and the porridge around 7pm.

twigy100 · 24/07/2022 21:41

Hi @CampervanKween,

Of course! I've just returned from holiday so have been off plan but back on it tomorrow ready for weigh in on Friday.
