Before I start, please don't shout at me 🙈 I know this isn't healthy but I'm just wondering if you have lost weight my replacing food with diet drinks ie dirty fasting? So fasting 18:6 but drinking Coke Zero when I'm in my 'fasting window'

What on earth is wrong with drinking zero cal drinks in a fasting window? I'd do it without a second thought if I liked drinking them.

The proper way to fast is all to do with keeping insulin low and blood sugar etc so drinking artificial sweeteners isn't how you properly fast. However, I'm not to worried about other fasting benefits other than weight loss so I'm wondering if it works

I'm not overly strict during fasting hours - I often drink tea or coffee but I only have a splash of unsweetened soya milk in it so there's barely any calories. It's never affected my weight loss or blood sugars.

Well if you are not worried about other benefits of fasting then of course it will be fine. They are zero calories. As long as it doesn't increase your appetite outside of those times, they won't cause you to put on weight, that is not scientifically possible.

Without wanting to be too judgy though, it might be worth reflecting on why you want to do it.

As you say, it's not a particularly healthy approach and it won't bring about proper, long term change. But you know that.

@onelittlefrog I know, i feel bad that it's not healthy but I have an occasion coming up that I need a particular dress to fit me (and I'm currently too fat )
