I'm 12lbs down..motivation thread

Just wanted to give myself a little humble brag. I'm trying not to talk about the fact that I'm trying to overhaul my eating habits in real life as I find the obsession with diet talk once people hear you're losing weight really gets to me (feel judged for every misstep then / everyone watching / get demotivated if someone makes a negative comment).

I've lost 12lbs in 3 weeks (I'm very over weight). I feel better in myself already and have had a few comments from people saying they think I've lost weight.

I have set myself a target of losing 35lbs by October (at which point when I hit that target I will then set another target. I didn't want to just set myself a target of 70-80lbs right off the bat and get demotivated). So that means only 23lbs to go!

If anybody else wants to join me on this thread for a judgement free space where we can rant / motivate / share tips or snacks etc. Feel free.

Well done OP - keep going!

Make sure this is manageable for you. I know you said you’re not hungry and letting your body feel what hungry is like is good, just don’t go so far you binge on something. Have a good meal ready for when you’re hungry next. Keep going!

At least one day won’t hurt though, especially when you don’t have the appetite today. Pretty sure some days I’d rather just nap 🤣. I’m having lemon chick and herbs with corn on the cob for dinner anyway tonight at least. I need to go food shopping so it’s quite boring food.

GermanShepherdLady · 25/06/2022 14:06

Does anyone else go window shopping online and look at clothes you wish you could buy or wear or is it just me? 🙄 looking at maxi dresses that I wish I could wear but they don’t do my size.

CuglyFunt · 26/06/2022 15:24

GSL where are you looking?
I know what you mean! I often think of how much easier clothes shopping was when I was a size 16!

I had a party this weekend so there was lots of drinking involved and naturally drunken cheesy chips were needed.

I've got another party tonight so I'm dreading what the scales will say this week but I'm trying to look at it with the mindset of you've still got to be able to enjoy yourself and I don't want to get obsessive!

I'll be back in full swing again from tomorrow. I do feel quite bloated and "heavy" in the tummy after yesterday which I'm choosing to think of as my body telling me that I do feel better when I'm being good so that's a reason to stick at it.

An online shop, but the plus sizes don’t even seem like normal plus sizes when you get them to try on. I like a certain style and so I feel like eventually when I can be at least two stone lighter I can fit into some I like not just ones that fit that are comfortable if that makes sense.

I think it’s only fair, I’m still going to have a beach day every few months, and I can guarantee I’ll still want a Fish and chips as a treat on our day out.

I’ve found something in Herrons Food today, that’s quite low calorie. Ice cream that was on special buy. Quite nice. First time I’ve ever set foot in there but it paid off. This will replace my usual ice cream.

Well. After a month I am 12lbs down.
The fact that I have not lost any more since I began the thread isn't bothering me too much as like I admitted a few posts ago I've definitely had a few bad days. I'm happy to finish the month 12lbs down.

I would ideally like to loose around another 10lb in July as a minimum (then I can stay I've lost over 1.5st!!) .... Fingers crossed! Xx

I'm feeling deflated today, I haven't lost anything as of yet, which makes me think I need to up my exercise or that I'm weighing my food wrong to get the calories wrong. How has everyone else done the past few days?

CuglyFunt · 30/06/2022 06:40

Sorry to hear that GSL. How many calories have you been aiming for?

I am feeling very bloated and 'heavy' the last day or two after eating quite a lot of carb heavy meals and drinking over the weekend. Need to get back in the game!

I’ve been aiming for 1600 calories a day. I’ve been quite ill today so haven’t had much so I’ll be back to normal eating soon hopefully. Did you have a good time that’s the main thing x

Same here! This is now one big 'plateau' as they call it. Nothing lost for two weeks now but 12lb down.
However I have lost inches in the weeks I've not dropped any weight. I have the 'trousers of truth' which last month I couldn't close and now not only fit but are heading towards too big!
Keep going!
