Woke up this morning and I'm 11sf 4lbs, heaviest I've been and ONE whole stone since I got married 4 years ago 😬

Am going on holiday in 7 weeks, All Inclusive, can I lose a stone by then?

Plus does anyone want to join me?

I'm in
I weighed myself and I;m 75.5kg which according to conversion is 11st 12;b

I've been in holiday which was my catalyst I think .
We were eating 3 meals a day but I had no chocolate , I had dessert most nights but they were very small so enough .
Since I've been home I've still had no chocolate and I think that's been the turning point for me , it is really addictive and just empty calories .

I need to do this for health more than anything , I can see the risk of Type2 Diabetes looming and I tell you what , it;s not bloody having me !

The last time I did a concentrated weight loss was 20 years ago , I was 10st12lb nd lost weight to get pregnant with DC2 , I went to 9st 2lb in 3 months and had my DD

Obviously now I'm older and menopausal , but now , as then , I have a goal

KurriKawari · 04/06/2022 00:24

Me.
However am being realistic with my expectations and plans.
Exercise - daily walk at lunchtime, and possibly a YouTube workout in the evening
Food - weetabix for breakfast, a salad or slimfast for lunch, two sensible snacks a day, healthy but filling dinner, drink more water

When I overcomplicate it I give up so am taking it slow and steady this time :)

Infracat · 04/06/2022 00:26

Me please. Im going to weigh in the morning. Got to lose over a stone.

nodtik · 04/06/2022 07:40

@70isaLimitNotaTarget @KurriKawari @Infracat

Let's do this then! I need some accountability!

What's the plan for today;

Breakfast?

Lunch?

Dinner?

Exercise?

I know I'll go for an hour long walk later, as I've just arranged to meet up with a friend, so that's good 👍🏻

Haven't planned meals, think I will try to stay around 1200 calories today.

Need to do some meal planning xx

I weighed this morning. Currently 10st 13lb. Need to get to 9st 12lb by 24 August. 1st 1lb. Im using MyFitnessPal. Walking. Swimming x 1 a week.

KurriKawari · 04/06/2022 12:51

We have no food in the house as we were away for half term, so breakfast was made out of what I could get from corner shop - toast, eggs n tea. Not great. Am doing the BIG Shop later so will stock up.

Also found a great range at B&M bargains called 'The Skinny' they're small snacks that get you your treat fix but low in calories

KurriKawari · 04/06/2022 12:52

No idea how much I weigh, scales at home say 66kg, scales at gym say 72kg!!

Infracat · 04/06/2022 23:01

Day 1 - 1242 calories for me today. Only managed 7600 steps though, would have preferred closer to 10000.

Newme2016 · 05/06/2022 15:43

Hi, can I join?

I am starting tomorrow, around 14 stone at the moment 😭want to be 12 7 by August.

I do a lot of exercise, 3 times a week PT, swim around 5 days a week and walk my dogs at least 2 hours a day. I should be skinny, but I like to eat! I am going to stick to around 1500 - 1800 calories a day. I can’t go any lower as I am very active.

I was 15 1/2 stone at one point, so coming down slowly, trying not to get too obsessed with the scales! 2lbs a week would be great!

Good luck everyone!

stealthninjamum · 05/06/2022 15:45

Can I join? I’m going on holiday in august and I have put on so much weight during Covid I am bulging out of my clothes. I feel like a sausage in a skin that’s too tight. I am too scared to weigh myself, will do that tomorrow!

SunnyLobelia · 05/06/2022 16:00

Can I join as well? After a successful family holiday this half term DH has suggested a holiday at the end of the summer holidays. :)

We would be joining up a few days with extended family who I have never met.

I am 13 stone 2 and would dearly love to lose a stone and a half at least if at all possible.

is that even doable do you think?

My plan was;

B- yoghurt, fruit, boiled egg
L- vegetable soup with pulses and maybe an oat cake or dark rye bread on side
D- grilled meats and loads of vegetables
Drinks- water, herbal teas and black coffee.
Exercise- I currently swim 3 times a week and need to start walking in my lunch break (maybe for 30-40 minutes).

gettingolderandgrumpy · 05/06/2022 16:07

Me , already decided this week I’ve got to try and loose some weight after buying some jeans and size 16 too tight 😢.
I exercise regularly but I plan to up it a bit this week , track my food and less wine .
plan my lunches as evening meat not too bad and less snacking .

gettingolderandgrumpy · 05/06/2022 16:09
  • Meals not meat
goodenoughmum88 · 06/06/2022 13:49

Joining as well. Would also like to be 12.7 by august and am 14.1 now - heaviest I’ve ever been and v little fits.
yogurt and fruit for breakfast
massive salad for lunch (but with halloumi so not amazing in terms of calories)
chicken stew for dinner.
logging with Noom too.
know I’ll feel much better for it, and am writing down why!

stealthninjamum · 06/06/2022 15:00

I opened up mfp. If I’m going to lose weight I’ll have to log every morsel.

Lunch was Nando’s which is a relatively low calorie option. I’m going to try to have 2 or 3 meals a day with minimal grazing so I thought Nando’s would get me away from my fridge.

Dinner is a ready meal, a Japanese salmon poke bowl for 400 calories.

Dc have got salmon and vegetables. I’ve already peeled and prepped potatoes, brocolli and carrots for them and done too much so lunch tomorrow will be a 3 egg omelette topped up with leftover veg. I really need to be organised and meal plan for everyone. It’s hard because dc have got different tastes and after school activities.

Hello all , I thought I'd find you all again and absorb some of your updates Highs'n'Lows

On a bad note , my IBS has reared its ugly little head the past few weeks so I've had pain and bloat alongsideside the being over dependant on a loo .
I've had it years and it does settle then flare .
Seeing GP in a couple of days , I'll request a referall back to GI as I'm due for a colonoscopy anyway .

On the Good Side
My stomach does look better (even with the bloat )
I have stayed off the chocolate and haven't weakened <hurrah>

The scales this morning showed a 3kg loss since my original weigh in , which is pretty fair and going the right way .

I cannot do Low Carb- I'm vegetarian (over 40 years) and had my gallbladder out so high fat is a painful "No" .

Pasta, grains, some bread ( I have a slice of fresh bread toasted on a Friday , delicious ) but obviously I have to really limit this .

I cannot achieve results too quickly , so this will be a slow plan.
And I know the weight loss will result in cragginess on my neck and the apron folds on my belly looking worse ( I'm a catch , right !) so increase moisturising and dig out the SlimGym .

Not eating late helps a lot , we have dinner about 6pm.
