Starting Mon 25 Apr - VLCD blitz!

I just placed an order for a VLCD, told DH I would be a bit boring kn the food front for a few weeks because I am SO fed up with feeling like a disgusting blob

I can’t even face weighing myself … am going to try and work out how to take a photo of the scales without actually looking but I reckon I have at least 12-15 kilos to lose - a combination of lockdown stress and starting hrt.

So starting Monday am starting a VLCD and will stay on it until I reach 65 kilos, then will switch to low carb to get the final 3 kg off

would so love some company on the journey!

SW - too scared to look but at least 12 kg to lose
TW 62kg

So my box of shakes and bars arrived today and am starting tomorrow. I feel quite excited and kind of settled in myself for finally just taking the plunge.

ive tried to avoid carbs for the last couple of days to make the first week easier…. Fingers crossed!

Best of luck Fluffy!!
I did S&S and lost nearly 2 stone in a very short while. And it did stay off until I had an unexpected hip replacement (aged 43) and my Dad became very ill and eventually passed away.
My comfort eating has put that weight on and more.
The stupid thing being that I have the stuff ready to start again, yet always fail on about day 3.
I hate how I feel and look.
I just need to pull my finger out.

I found the biggest aid was drinking loads of water. The constant need to head to the loo seems to settle down after a few days.

Fluffywithteeth · 25/04/2022 19:25

Ah thanks @Chickmad - I’m so sorry about your dad and the hip replacement - that is such a lot to go through . You mustn’t be so hard kn yourself - you’re still grieving … and a long stretch of looking after others always makes me feel like food is the only kne looking after me!

but you’ve done it before and that was amazing!

i dared to look at the scales this monrkng 76.4kg… I weigh nearly as much as my 6ft husband! Really could not have left it any later

I’m doing the exante 800. So I had 2 shakes, a bar and now 30g almonds. Hasn’t felt too bad today but I thought day 3 (wed) might be a challenge so I’ve got a mega busy day when all the food choices will be revolting so much less tempting!!

how quickly did you lose the 2 stone?
xx

Thanks so much for your kind words Fluffy.

And well done for day 1!

I tried exante but tbh found it harder going than S&S. I definitely feel so much more energised when following a keto diet. And have no hunger pangs. S&S was easy too. Simply 4 things a day.

I need to gird my loins to have another go as it was only 10 weeks to lose 2 stone...that said I do have a total of 6ish to lose so obviously you drop weight quicker. You can lose approximately 1st a month on S&S if you follow the plan 100%.

Atm I have just been calorie counting with my fitness pal and trying to stay clear of the comfort eating. I was 2lbs down this week...which is at least moving in the right direction.

Hope tomorrow is another 100% day for you!

Fluffywithteeth · 26/04/2022 17:47

Oh that’s really good to get a 2lb loss with the measured approach. Unfortunately I m just totally rubbish at moderation….!

s&S sounds interesting - what is it? Xx

Hi Fluffy. How's it going?
S&S is Slim and Save. A VLCD meal replacement thing very like exante except if done correctly it puts you in a state of ketosis.

I like you struggle with moderation. Especially when I get stressed.

Fluffywithteeth · 02/05/2022 18:03

Happy to say I lost 3kg this week and managed not to get derailed by lunch with the in-laws - only another 11 kilos to go 😬!

hiw are yiu getting in?

Just did A weigh and another 1.1kg down. Trying just to focus on week bu week rather than thinking how long it’s going to take me to reach my target weight!

how are you chickmad?

Sorry Fluffy...been a bit manic here but I am super impressed at your losses.
I had a very bad week last week comfort eating. So decided to use your success as inspiration and pull my finger out and start again
I have just done Day 1 again on Exante...as that is what I have in the cupboard.
I think focusing on smaller goals rather than the full thing is better. Otherwise it feels like it could take forever. But let's be honest we didn't get so heavy overnight so it is unlikely to go at warp speed lol!
As long as the scales are going down that is the main thing!
Do you track your inches too? I think that can be a huge motivator sometimes. I need to dig out my tape measure!

Fluffywithteeth · 13/05/2022 18:06

Yay!! Well done you! I had completely forgotten about doing measures but I will start doing that as the weight loss slows down now. Weigh in is Monday ….

So you’re on day 3 now - how you feeling?

OP posts:
Chickmad · 15/05/2022 22:43

Well I made it through the dreaded day 3..
And am currently on day 5.... I think lol. I have been 100 %... how about you?

I am planning on doing a weigh in in the morning, so week one will actually only be 6 days long. But Monday is my preferred weigh in day.

Let's hope both of us see a positive (negative) difference!

Chickmad · 16/05/2022 14:59

Well weigh in week one.....7.5lbs off!

How are you doing fluffy?

Fluffywithteeth · 18/05/2022 12:51

Well done! Sometimes the hardest thing is starting and now you’re already a week in!

so last week I lost another 1.3 kilos so down to 71 and 5.4 kilos down in total over the 3 weeks

I have been pretty good (the occasional extra handful of almonds when I’m particularly stressed!) but no major off the wagon events 😆

so did you do your weigh in on Monday?

OP posts:
Chickmad · 24/05/2022 10:21

Morning Fluffy!

I hope you are having a good week?

I did my 2nd weigh in yesterday and had lost another 5 and ¾ lbs.

I have had a few wobbly moments this week but I haven't given in. I have tried either just keeping busy or some weight based podcasts.

I suppose I am a little disappointed that I haven't made the stone loss yet. But tbh I was possibly wanting the unattainable there. However I am in the 17 stone bracket for the first time in ages.

What is your plan when you get to your final goal weight? I am thinking of doing the 5:2 diet longterm.
