Drinks on IF/TRE

Im more of a morning person and prefer a bigger breakfast and lunch and a small, early ‘tea’. When I do a sort of IF 16:8 finishing eating at 4/5 I feel better. However I’ve recently been reading the Circadian Code and it seems no drinks except water are allowed- I have been having milky tea, milk, hot chocolate (latter I realise probably a bit different Blush) …I really don’t want to give these up either as before bed is the only chance I get to sit with a hot drink and unwind, I sleep better for it. Tried camomile tea a few times but it doesn’t seem to hit the spot.

I understand this isn’t strictly fasting, but has anyone still had good weight loss results of IF/TRE without ‘counting’ drinks?

Unsweetened almond milk is low sugar so has a minimal effect on insulin which gives the benefits of fasting - not sure a very milky drink is the same but certainly a 'normal' tea should be fine.

And chamomile isn't the only herbal tea!! There's hundreds of blends and flavours on the market so I'd recommend giving a few different ones a try - personally I love the Yogi Tea range.

Sorry I actually meant unsweetened soya milk

@FusionChefGeoff the author steers away from most teas as they often have an amount of caffeine

You mentioned tea in your OP which was why I used that example - personally I only have one caffeinated tea in the morning and the rest are herbal or decaf - and if I use the unsweetened soya milk then they would all be ok in a fasting window.
