Liver detox?

Anyone up for trying this to see if it helps? Apparently your liver is the organ that burns fat. So if it's overworked, then you won't loose weight easily.

How exactly are you planning on doing this?

HermioneWeasley · 27/03/2022 21:09

Sounds like bollocks to me

Sofasogood1 · 27/03/2022 21:11

Your liver does the body's detoxing. That's it's job isn't it?

MaraScottie · 27/03/2022 21:12

Other than not drinking alcohol, I imagine everything else is just marketing or some made up shite.

That's how I see it I have weight problems but not convinced by these theories

What were you thinking to do?

My sister has no weight issues and seems to eat loads. She takes turmeric supplements but I think they have other benefits.

I mean eating liver-cleansing foods only for a week to see what effect it has.

GotToNamechangeForThis123 · 27/03/2022 22:00

And maybe some milk thistle type of supplement.

I'd like to see if it helps. Then I may do it for longer.

I don't mean just drinking juice or something like that.

There are foods that help strengthen your liver. Eg: beetroot, tumeric, garlic, green tea, grapefruit, olive oil, leafy greens, lemons, limes, avocados, walnuts.. etc

I mean, that is a yummy salad right there!

(Sorry forgive the name change!)

If you can eat just that for a week, you will lose weight anyway!

Wish I could do that. Good luck anyway.

I meant those foods as an example. Not that this is all I will eat.

So you're basically going to eat very healthily and take milk thistle? No harm in that.

There are loads of cleansing recipes online...

Oh god please don't do this. Your body's organs does all the cleansing you need. Just eat decent protein sources and lots of fruit and veg! Don't over complicate things.
