It made me feel dizzy and didn't stop hunger

Lovingthemalbec · 07/03/2022 19:16

Oh no! I’m a dizzy person anyway. How long did you take it for and what dose?

HereComesSpringAgain · 07/03/2022 19:16

i'm interested...so following this!

Foundayshone · 07/03/2022 19:19

I thew up. Alot. I mean regularly, maybe 2/3 times and hour, for about 24 hours. Throughout the night too.
I binned it after my first injection, though I know I did have a bad reaction.

Lovingthemalbec · 07/03/2022 19:24

Oh dear this isn’t looking promising 🥲 I’m even more nervous now! I’m a bit of a flake anyway

My sister is using it and it is working so incredibly well. I haven’t seen her looking so good for years. She’s been on it for 3 months. Already made a huge change in that she doesn’t feel like eating a lot but eats enough to have energy. Good luck

HereComesSpringAgain · 07/03/2022 21:43

what you going to do op?

Myusername2015 · 07/03/2022 21:44

I’ve been doing it a few weeks; complete gain changer for me so far

Starlightstarbright1 · 07/03/2022 21:47

I am interested in this...

Do you think it helps emotional eating?

Quitelikeit · 07/03/2022 21:51

Yes it works. You may well feel nauseous. You can take it before bed to help with this.

Totalwasteofpaper · 07/03/2022 21:52

The whole... it can give you cancer disclaimer put me off.

HereComesSpringAgain · 08/03/2022 01:14

Everything can give you cancer though

Being overweight makes you more susceptible

Lovingthemalbec · 08/03/2022 03:57

I'm not sure herecomesspringagain! I just need something to give me a boost. I get very hungry with not sleeping well so was hoping this would help to adjust my appetite. I may just try it for a few days to see how I react to it. I hadn't planned on taking it for a long time. I just wanted to retrain my thinking 're portion size

Has anyone been prescribed on the NHS? I'm massively overweight due to disability, can't exercise & can only see myself getting bigger without help. Some of the medication I take causes weight gain but they are vital due to my conditions.

ThisIsNotARealAvo · 08/03/2022 05:15

I have been using it for a few months. It suppressed my appetite massively at first and I lost a stone really quickly. I did feel a bit sick at times but it passed quickly and I found sipping water or squash helped. I'm coming off it now as it's becoming less effective. I'm a little bit disappointed but I loved it at first and it was very good. For the first time in my whole life I didn't want to eat everything in sight.

Lovingthemalbec · 08/03/2022 08:55

Nat6999 you should check with your Dr first. If you go through online pharmacy you do a questionnaire that asks medical conditions etc but I would double check just in case. It is quite expensive so if they do I doubt they dish it out but might be worth a try if you say you are struggling to exercise etc… there may be even better options for you, new medications etc to try if over a certain bmi, good luck 🤞

This is not a real avo , it will be interesting to see if your appetite has been reset. The more I eat the more starving I am

ThisIsNotARealAvo · 08/03/2022 09:34

I'm really hoping it has, and that I've got into some good habits of stopping when I'm full.

LunaTheCat · 08/03/2022 09:50

I am taking it.
Completely reduces my appetite , makes me nauseated, is quite constipating.
Took it for a week then stopped.
Restarted because I had almost 5 pens and so so expensive!
Was better prepared

  • took it at night before bed
  • nothing to eat after as I vomited in the middle of night if I did
  • took anti nausea pill early evening before I took injection
  • bought some coloxyl for constipation.
Tonight feeling v sorry self. Day off lunch. Caesar Salad, then had about 1/2 creme brûlée ( I know, should not have but I so love a creme brûlée) Couldn’t eat anything rest day, nauseated, gassy. It certainly works because you feel dreadful if you over-eat, just dreadful! Have also completely lost taste alcohol. I am on 1.2 mg dose and not planning to increase until feel hungry again. I lost 1.5 kg in first week and need to loose 10kg all up. Good luck!
Nat6999 · 08/03/2022 11:03

How much dies it really reduce your appetite? What size meals can you eat without suffering the side effects? My biggest problem is I'm a sugar addict, every night I end up stuffing my face with sweets & chocolate. I'm on Gabapentin as I have severe peripheral neuropathy & Mirtazapine for anxiety & depression & both cause weight gain, I'm an emotional eater as I have become housebound due to losing the use of my legs & being unable to walk.

LunaTheCat · 08/03/2022 20:20

It reduced my appetite by half .
It sounds like you have lots challenges.💐
Would a change medication help?
Have you had some bloods to make sure you are not diabetic ?
Have you been offered some talking treatment/ counselling?
Best wishes.

HereComesSpringAgain · 09/03/2022 10:36

I think I'm going to give it a go

What would first steps be?

And what anti nausea pills?

SpunBodgeSquarepants · 09/03/2022 10:41

I've just googled as interested - £47 per pen/day?! Is that right....?

HereComesSpringAgain · 09/03/2022 21:17

That can't be right surely?

EachandEveryone · 09/03/2022 21:23

I’m not getting on with it very well. I’ve just gone up to 1.2 today and I feel terrible already. Last week when I started it I was the same I was so nauseous I couldn’t eat for three days. She. The nausea wore off I wanted to eat the same as before. I do t think I will get beyond this pen.

Gingernaut · 09/03/2022 21:34

I've had an online consultation and received a message today from the Boots online service to expect a message any day soon.
