I started the blood sugar diet yesterday after having s high blood pressure reading. I've got about 30kg that need to go and I've been struggling to do any moderate eating or exercise. I'm exhausted and feel unwell all the time

but, urgh....I feel horrible. really weird tummy and had to go to bed when I got home from work. please hold my hand

Sugar/carbs are like a drug. If you go cold turkey, you get the same symptoms you get when you give up anything else... wobbly, headache, shakes, nausea etc.

Can you cut down? I've found it useful to have dextrose tablets in my pocket, so I get the sugar, but I still don't eat all the crappy carby food. It helped me cut back at my own pace. It doesn't take long, and what's a week or two, in terms of your long term diet?

I think I need to go cold turkey and just be done with it. I'll trick myself, if I pretend I am reducing/weaning. I've managed for 4 days but struggling tonight

Like any withdrawal, it does end. It's not forever.

If I desperately want sugar but don't want to give in to it, I eat something pickled. Usually squashes the craving altogether. I do it if I'm about to make a cake, it stops me licking the bowl! Might be worth a go. Gherkins are good. Unsweetened, of course!

4 days is great!
