Wow WWB!!!!! Congratulations. What a fantastic weight loss. You definitely deserve a crown.

OhLITTLEFISHofBethlehem · 14/12/2007 14:06

Just managed to put your crown on the old thread. Oops.

Here you go WWB - a festive crown for you

JackieNoel · 14/12/2007 15:24

Well done WWB . That is amazing. Doesn't sound as if you're better though. Hope things improve for you.

WigWamBam · 14/12/2007 15:42

Oh, thank you for the crown

I'm not sure I really deserve it though because this week is almost certainly as much to do with being ill as with being virtuous!

I've been a bit better today; still not well but over the worst, I think. Dh has been at home again expecting to be looked after, which doesn't help - he gets all competitive when it comes to illness and despite having felt better before I came down with it, when I'm unwell, he always has to have it worse than I do. Bloody man flu ...

JackieNoel · 14/12/2007 17:58

Why do they do that, eh? Hope you can all take it easy this weekend.

deckthehallswithFEETofTIGERs · 14/12/2007 18:55

My dh does that too - alpha male my substantial arse

WWB so sorry you have been ill - must have been pretty horrible to lose all that in one week How is dd now? Hopefully better and back at school enjoying the Christmas festivities.

[Whispers very quietly]

dd slept through last night - first time since August I think

WigWamBam · 14/12/2007 19:02

Yep - I think they're all the same

Yeah, dd was back at school on Wednesday. They managed to reschedule her post job so she won't miss out, although she did miss the dress rehearsal (and so recording) of the play. And I missed the performance yesterday, which I was gutted about.

Well done, mini-TigerFeet

JackieNoel · 14/12/2007 20:26

Oh wow - well done TigerPaws. Hope she can do it again tonight.

MrsJohnCuSackFullOfPresents · 14/12/2007 21:28

yay TIger!
and well done WWB - what a great loss

I have not weighed as last week I'd put on a couple of pounds - BUT I have just had my first period in 19 months and it has been grim, so I'm hoping it was all bloat from that and the monster carb/choc cravings that accompanied it

JackieNoel · 15/12/2007 08:10

MrsJC - I remember my first periods, and being completely overcome by raving pmt before them. Was horrible. Hope you're feeling better now.

JackieNoel · 15/12/2007 08:11

(I mean my first periods after having the DCs)

JackieNoel · 18/12/2007 21:45

. Everyone too busy with Christmassy things? Hope the various DCs are still sleeping better.

I haven't been running for ages - it's so cold. But I really must - I've got an extra incentive now, as my mum has been diagnosed with osteoporosis, and her spine is crumbling. She's in a lot of pain. I really need to keep doing the exercise, to keep my bone density up, as it's hereditary.

littlemisssensible · 19/12/2007 09:15

Hi All,

I've stopped weighing for the moment as I'm having a pretty c@*p time at the moment!

I've had the delightful sickness bug and dd has been passing out and getting horrendous headaches

I had a call from her head teacher two weeks ago to tell me the choir (includes DD) were at the old peoples home doing their carol singing and DD had passed out so they'd called a para-medic

Despite my sensible gene telling me that was just precautionary and that she'd just fainted, I went into a mini panic during the 15 minute drive to get there! She was OK but looked very pale and had a terrible headache...had to dose her with calpol and iboprufen throught the next day too.

It happened again the next week although the teacher realised what was happening and sat her down quick so she didn't pass out. The doctor suspects migraine as I am asthmatic and apparently they're related in a genetic way . DD is obviously beginning to develop (begins of bust and mood swings....Deep Joy! And she's only 10 in Jan FFS!)which the doctor thinks is probably contributing, all those hormones!

Not a lot we can do at her age except try to prevent by making sure she eats well and drinks lots, then dose with calpol etc when needed

On top of all that we're behind on the returns at work so the office is getting VERY hectic

I'm thinking of cancelling Christmas because its all becoming too much but I know once Christmas Eve is here and I can relax for the week I'll feel much better! Not even thinking about food control though!

littlemisssensible · 19/12/2007 09:19

Sorry that was a long and whingy post [contrite emoticon]

I hope you all have a lovely Christmas and a Happy New Year, and I wish you all that you wish for yourselves this Christmas!

JackieNoel · 19/12/2007 15:22

Not long and whingy at all, Littlemisssensible - sounds like you're having a tough time atm. Hope you're recovering from the sickness bug, and that you can keep DD's headaches etc under control. Poor thing. I'm feeling the same about looking forward to Christmas Eve, when if it isn't done, it'll be too late to do anything about it. Hope you can manage to relax over Christmas.

littlemisssensible · 20/12/2007 09:32

Thanks JackieNoel!

I'm feeling better today! I'm over the bug and no one else has gone down with it!!!! And I've finally wrapped everything and cleaned the house and got the decorations sorted (dd is doing the tree today with dh while I'm at work!)and done the last shop (except for fresh veg from local shop!)so I'm finely beginning to feel Christmasy!

DD has broken up so she's much more relaxed and consequently feeling better too! I don't think all the 'run up to Christmas' strees has helped her, what with several evening choir events as well as the ones during school time, and homework she just got really tired out etc!

So have a Merry Christmas everyone, just in case i don't get any more time alone with the 'puter!!!!

littlemisssensible · 20/12/2007 10:01

I've just realised that today I my first born is 25 years old

Blimey I must be a really old bag!!!

OhLITTLEFISHofBethlehem · 20/12/2007 11:20

Happy birthday to your firstborn LMS! You're not old at all - and, having met you, I can also tell you that you're very attractive!

Well, went to WW today and I've lost another 1.5lbs. That's 13.5 in total. I was hoping to lose 2lbs, just so I had lost a stone by Christmas, but I'm delighted to have got this far. (See Kew, I'm celebrating every ounce )

I'm off to see my family over Christmas, including the disapproving aunt, the model sister and the bulimic/anorexic mother. For once, I will hold my head up and ignore all the hurtful comments (or non-comments) and glances. I'm feeling really positive because 2 people at work commented that I'd lost weight. With so much to lose, I thought I'd need to lose a lot more before it started to show. Perhaps it's just my new, positive attitude that's shining through.

littlemisssensible · 20/12/2007 12:08

Thank You

And congratulations on that weight loss! You're really doing well!

JackieNoel · 20/12/2007 12:14

Well done that Littlefish. And by the time you see all your relatives, it'll probably be the full stone you've lost. It's so motivating isn't it, when people notice.

Littlemisssensible - glad you're feeling a bit happier, and yes, I know that my 2 are pretty exhausted by all the festivities, so I'm sure your DD will feel better for a bit of light pottering around. at your eldest - you can't possibly have a 25 year old daughter. You must have been a child bride, eh?

And DS will be 4 on Saturday - no idea where those years went. Then DD beginning of January (so as well as doing all the Christmas stuff, I'm also organising 2 lots of birthday presents and 2 parties). Will weigh later, but suspect no loss, and maybe a gain.

littlemisssensible · 20/12/2007 16:49

Goodness JackieNoel, thats even closer to Christmas than ds! It makes for a hectic time of year doesn't it! At least ds no longer expects mum to do a party his dp gets that pleasure!!!!

JackieNoel · 20/12/2007 17:44

It does - you're well out of the parties, LMS - but at least we've only got one full-on one this year. Am leaving DS's till new year, so we've got his on Jan 6th, then DD's on Jan 13th. But she's having a more low-key belly dancing party, with just 4 friends, so much less stressful. DS's is 20-odd 3 and 4 year olds and a bouncy castle .

MrsJohnCuSackFullOfPresents · 20/12/2007 20:04

Well done Littlefish! and good luck with that parade of awkward relatives

and good luck Jackie with all the birthdays. am PSML at low-key belly dancing party - IS there such a thing?

and congrats to DS littlemisssensible, and sorry for all that you have on your plate (excuse the pun)

I think I have put on a few pounds so I shall try to sort that out, but we are having bad nights (and days) with DS again, teeth and a stinking cold (which I have too). On the 2 occasions DS hasn't woken at 3am, DD has instead. It's like they get together and sort it out the night before. On the morning DD (incredibly) slept in til 7.50, DS got up at 5.30. Still, only today to get through and then DH is off for 2 weeks so I might get to catch up a bit...

JackieNoel · 20/12/2007 21:28

Oh no, MrsJC - I'd hoped it might be getting better for you. Wishing you lots of relaxing lie-ins while your DH is off.

Umm, I know what you mean about the belly-dancing party, but it's the fact that there are only 4 of them going that makes it low-key for me. Plus no doubt DS will want to join in, and the lady who's teaching them the belly dancing has a daughter at DS's nursery (which is how I found out about her), so she'll be there.

WigWamBam · 22/12/2007 16:37

Sorry to hear everyone's having such a crap time

But your "low key" belly dancing party sounds like a hoot, Jackie!

LittleFish ... sod the disapproving aunt and the rest of the weird rellies; you are gorgeous.

Just a small and select little weigh-in this week, ladies:

JackieNo: +2lb (total +2lb)
LittleFish: -1.5lb (total 13lb)
WWB: stayed the same (total 24lb)
