Evening eating advice

Hi all! I have a quick question that I hope someone can answer! I am really good food wise during the day and once evening comes I lose all control and wat anything that comes my way, I can easily consume 1000 calories, it's really annoying me as nothing specific triggers the need. I feel so bad afterwards and vow not to do this again, until the next evening.
I walk and eat well during the day and it all unravels in the evening, I don't even enjoy the food when I'm eating it, it doesn't make sense, Thanks for reading!

I go and brush my teeth when the hunger baby consumes me
Normal and then a whitening treatment polish too
Puts me off for a while sometimes

Are you eating because you are bored? You could try doing something else instead, ideally keeping your hands occupied. Like knitting or sewing or manicure/pedicure. And make sure you aren't thirsty - have some water or peppermint tea or something.

Are you binging because you've eaten too little during the day? Maybe try and consciously up your protein intake at dinner to keep the hunger at bay.

My post dinner munching is usually due to boredom so I aim for a cup of peppermint tea and a square of dark chocolate to keep my mouth busy lol.

I was going to say what @Juno231 said - are you eating enough throughout the day?

I have a couple of little rules - I don't eat anything in the hour or so before bed, partly because I don't like going to bed with a full stomach but partly because if I'm going to eat something I want the enjoyment of eating it AND to feel sated afterwards but if I'm only going to feel that for 30mins before bed it's a waste!

Sounds like you are in a habit. Habits can be broken fairly easily. Maybe try replacement - instead of food, have a peppermint tea? Get a bath? Play a game on your phone?

Didn't realise @Juno231 had also said about peppermint tea!

I find the evening difficult too. Foods like a small handful of nuts or an apple or a bowl of natural yogurt with Greek honey (or all of these things) helps me feel full. Doesn’t seem to lead to weight gain anyway!

If I set time limits on my eating, it helps enormously. I tell myself that it's intermittent fasting and that I can only eat from 11am - 7pm. As I tend to snack a lot at 8pm/9pm, I see a big difference very quickly when I stick to these hours. Try it. Brush your teeth at 7pm and say 'I'm fasting now'.

Thanks all for taking the time to reply with your advice, will take it on board and see how it goes
