Hi, we have homemade lasagne for dinner. I'm trying to lose weight and appreciate this isn't the best meal but thought a small portion with salad would be OK. I've tried to Google an appropriate portion size but struggling to find an answer. My portion sizes are usually huge. Does anyone have a rough idea? I have scales and can weigh.

It did have low fat mince in it. I know that much. Thank you for all your helpful responses

It's one meal. Just eat what you think is reasonable. A,few more or less calories in one meal are going to make bugger all difference to your long term weight loss!

@lazylinguist thank you and I would usually agree. I've never dieted before and been fine. But I have put on so much weight I need to be careful for a while

6 inch square of lasagne is substantial.

6 cm is so ludicrously tiny though I can't even imagine the point of it. Can't be more than two mouthfuls

If I was calculating I’d say each forkful would be about 1x2cm so probably 18 forkfuls.

Regardless lasagne isn’t a meal to be eating if you’re trying to lose weight!

Anything is a meal to be eating if you are trying to lose weight. If anything, it helps to build up good habits and think about overal eating not just the particular meal. Having bigger dinner tonight? Yeah, lets have lighter lunch and maybe skip a a snack". Like normal people.
