Renting or buying a treadmill

Hi, am looking for advice and tips about renting a treadmill and then investing in one eventually for home use by me and my family. Have entered a half marathon next year to raise funds in memory of my late dad. Ran/hobbled the London Marathon years ago and am now unfit, peri meno and in need to move my butt to get ready! Am hoping to find recommendations of good hire companies in first instance. Please help as not sure where to start/how much to pay.

Sorry nothing to add, apart from that I'm interested too!

I didn't even know you could rent them! Shock Sorry OP, not much help I know.

Rental of big machines like this is more expensive than gym membership. if your reason for wanting to hire is just to be sure you are getting the right thing before you invest then just doing a couple of sessions at a gym (most will have a taster/trial membership option) should be sufficient for research. Once you know what you want then buying it on credit and paying it off gradually will be much cheaper in the long run than renting it. There are plenty of ways to access 0% or low-interest finance deals for big purchases like this.

I don't know about renting, I've always owned one that did me perfectly well for marathon training. I had a horizon fitness one that lasted 10 years with heavy use, when that eventually broke, I got the same model second hand on ebay that I'm still using now, think it only cost £100. Also for proper half marathon training you need to be mixing up your training with road running as it feels very different.
