Have a look at 'Mindful Chef. I have lost 2 stone in 3 months as it's so healthy it makes me consider what else I eat during the day as well. Amazing customer service and great choices.

Mindful Chef for low carb, none of the others.

SunshineCake · 13/05/2021 22:34

I used diet chef twice a few years ago.

I lost a stone then nothing but tbh I did the same with a couple of other things I tried.

I found the meals either okay or awful and all tasted the same. They also didn't look that great. The snacks were okay and the breakfasts weren't too bad. I wouldn't do it again.

I have lost three stone. Half from giving up the food I was intolerant too and the other through IF and running.

I've tried Gusto and Hello Fresh. Both fine (Gusto better) but no low carb options. The protein portions are actually quite small and meals bulked up with rice/pasta/breads/potatoes obvs to keep costs down. There are low calories options but no low carb

Hello Fresh is good, and they are better at including more variation than then used to be (ie, marking recipes as low cal/carb, gluten free etc). But unless you look at the recipes before including them in your order, a lot are high cal / high sugar / high far. The high sugar in particular, seems to sneak in... although some of it can be attributed to naturally occurring sugars (example being that I had a pumpkin recipe this week which was high sugar). High fat can be managed to a point, by excluding the mayo they send with the recipe or using less cheese.

I'm mainly using them for convenience but try to choose the healthier recipes as well.

I'm in Australia and I assuming the set up is the same as the UK - but maybe not, given what @Sisisimone had said about low carb.

Definitely Mindful Chef

dueindecember10 · 14/05/2021 17:48

I use Gousto and choose the healthier options, of which there are many.

cook.gousto.co.uk/raf?promo_code=CLARE11831100&utm_source=iosapp

This code gives you 60% off your first box.

Thank @dueindecember10 for the voucher

There are no low carb options at all in the 'healthy options' though. All very carb heavy - rice, bread, pasta. I quite liked gousto when I used it but protein portions are small and bulked out with cheaper carbs.

Sisisimone · 16/05/2021 13:40

Actually I've just gone on Hello Fresh and looked there as I haven't used it for a few years and they have a 'carb smart' section so that might be a better bet

LuckyMcDucky · 16/05/2021 16:31

I've just got a Green Chef box. It does keto or lower carb, so I'm trying two keto and one lower carb. I'm not doing a bootcamp style low carb diet, as I'm still having some fruit and most veg other than potatoes.

The produce looks good, neatly packaged with all that wool stuff you always get with these boxes. If it's nice I'll order again I think.

partyatthepalace · 16/05/2021 16:40

Mindful chef only for low carb

If it’s too £££ an alternative to to have Cook frozen meals - quite a lot of them pass - or you can do a bit of both

partyatthepalace · 16/05/2021 16:43

... actually I take it back, looks like hello fresh do lower carb options now.

I would rec Cook for the can’t be arsed evenings tho!

LuckyMcDucky · 16/05/2021 16:44

Oh, we have a Cook. Didn't realise some of their meals were low carb.

theshadeofgreen · 03/06/2021 16:54

If anybody wanted to try hello fresh I've just been sent a code for £20 off your first box... welcome to use Smile
