Balancing a 'bad' day

I've been tracking with MFP since last summer and have been doing quite well. I'm on 1,200/day. Every now and again at the weekend I indulge in some 'junk' food, be it some sweets, dessert, or even a take away or a full English breakfast. Currently I try to balance all those additional calories but having a day or two of 'soup-intensive' days, where my meals are replaced by nutritious but low-calorie home-made soups.

I was wondering how others on a weight loss journey make up for slips. Thank you.

I look at the weekly average calories on MFP (the nutrition button on the diary page) and stick to that. So if something doesn’t ‘fit’ into my day, if it fits into my ‘calories under weekly goal’ I will have it. I have found it fairly easy to bank at least 30-50 calories a day throughout the week to use on a weekend treat.
I’ve lost 6.5 stone like this so it works for me

@NeedATan

I'm actually quite happy with 1,200 calories a day. I don't go hungry.

Me too.

I do lose on it though as I'm pretty active - usually over 20k steps per day. Long walks short runs and Joe Wicks hiit sessions.

I think you're fine with the balancing thing but I'd be concerned about not losing on 1200 and try to up the exercise. You've done it before so you know that you'll enjoy it after a while. Do you have someone you can buddy up with? Join a local running club? Walk with a friend? Good luck.
