April, who's in?

Thought I would start a thread for April weight loss chat.

I'm going to do Low Carb (and get involved in the LCBC) but wanted a more general chit chat thread for people who were losing weight in other ways. And, I am going to increase my exercise and activity too.

I'm starting an Instagram account, and going to do daily weighing and weekly selfies... Not that the selfies will get online.

Hi Ice - I don't want to call you Whale! I would love to join you for some mutual support and accountability. And for the chat.
I have put on about 12 kg (2 stone) over the last year due to comfort eating and having some challenges to overcome. Last June I was sent to hospital by my GP and ended up having emergency back surgery, the 4th surgery on my spine.
I had an MRI on Sunday and am waiting to hear if I'll need more surgery.
I have decided that for my health, emotional well-being and to get into my summer clothes, I am going to lose the weight and get to a BMI of around 23 again.
For the last two weeks I have got back into the habit of weighing myself every morning. I will be taking note of the overall progress and not focusing on the fluctuations as they are to be expected.
I've also started using Nutracheck and am trying to eat on average 1200 a day. I'm focusing on a way of eating that I can sustain for the long run. And I won't see any foods as a bad food but will keep most of the meals healthy. I have also leant to accept that meals out, a slice of birthday cake, the occasional takeaway won't mess up my progress as long as I get back on plan.
Gosh, that all sounds very preachy! There's no right or wrong way to do this. Let's support each other and keep each other going.

Hello, I’d like to join please! I’m just doing reduced calories on MyFitnessPal with excercise 3 times a week and trying to walk 10,000 steps a day. I’ve got a lot to loose and struggle to stay focused if I’m swept up In the moment of a food craving!!

MarmaladeToastAndAMarmaladeCat · 27/03/2021 16:19

I’d like to join too.

@JangleBangle I also had terrible back problems last year. I had a slipped disc (misdiagnosed as sacroiliac problems) for 2 years and then last June it got a lot worse and I couldn’t walk and horrific sciatica. I ended up finally having surgery in December. I’m doing a lot better but still have sciatica so next step is a steroid injection in a couple of weeks! Hope yours improves and your mri is ok. It can be so debilitating Sad

I put on about 6kg last year with comfort eating and not being able to walk (but was already overweight since having my children, now 2 & 3).

I’ve been committed to losing weight and getting back to a healthy BMI since January, mainly for my health and to help my back. I’m logging food on my Fitbit which really helps with portion sizes and have been walking a lot more.

I’ve gone from 86.4kg (BMI 29.8) to 75.3kg (BMI 26.2) and have lost just over 11kg. I’ve got 3 more kg to get to a healthy bmi and I’d like to lose another 10kg after that to get back to my pre pregnancy weight.

Hi everyone! I'd also like to join please.

I have been on noom counting calories since September. Lost 12kg so far but it has been slow going since Christmas and has felt a bit two steps forward one step back. Keen to stay on track in April especially with Easter and pubs starting to open again.

My target is to lose 1.5kg in April - I have 9 kg more in total to lose to be a comfortable weight. I also want to focus on exercising and toning more. I had my baby just over 9 months ago and really haven't regained any strength and feel like when I exercise I'm more inclined to be good with food.

Looking forward to losing weight together!

I would like to join too please. I am 37, 5”5 and currently 11 stone 6lbs. Aim is to lose 2 stone as that will put my BMI at 22 but it’s a long time since I have been that weight so not sure how/if it will happen and I am aiming for 10 stone to start with.
I only started yesterday, I am trying to really cut back on the junk as I can often think nothing of eating a whole packet of buns and a share size chocolate bar a day, sometimes more.
I am planning on eating granola with a banana for breakfast, omelette or soup with a yogurt for lunch and then a healthy tea. I have started doing couch 25k which I will do 3 times a week and in between I am doing some just dance in the switch, plus I have started doing 100 sit ups and 50 squats daily which I hope to increase.
It sounds like I am off to a great start but I often do this, last 3-4 days then go straight back to my previous ways when the cravings hit mid week so I am hoping that by joining the thread it will give me some motivation.
I am planning on letting myself have a regular sized chocolate bar once a week and a healthier dessert on sundays if I fancy it which I’m hoping will help keep me on track.
I’m going to weigh myself each Monday so will keep popping back to update and see how others are getting on x

Me too, please. I really need to sort myself out as my extra weight is making me miserable. Need to lose at least 10kg, ideally 15. But just really can’t find the willpower these days and have fallen into the trap of eating and drinking for comfort and out of boredom. Hopefully being accountable to you guys will help...

Hey hey hey!
Sorry, I took a web break for a few days, and then forgot I started this thread.

Just finishing a job application but will be back to catch up. Hope everyone is OK?

I drank alcohol for the first time in forever yesterday so feeling pretty rough right now.
