XLS Weight Loss Tablets

I've just see an advert for these products and I'd not heard of them.
How do they help you to lose weight?
Are there any negative side effects?

Are they the ones that if you eat any form of fat , then basically you get terrible uncontrollable shits that will be oily and stain your clothes ( I'm not joking )

Oh blimey! So they're a kind of laxative?

Hmm, doesn't sound too healthy!

There are two types, one type is the dramatic laxative ones which I never tried and don't want to.
Then there is another type, also sold by XLS or Superdrug own brand, which are an appetite suppressant and also reduce calorie absorption from carbs, fat and sugar. It says on the leaflet to take them before every meal each day, but I only take them before an indulgence meal once a week or if I know I'm having a treat. I find they do help and are a handy thing to have in my weight-loss repertoire.
