When I was doing ww I followed the points plan as I foudn it easiest for my lifestyle. Maybe try a week of each and find which you get on with best?

suwoo · 17/10/2007 21:12

As a WW leader, my advice is; if you can cook/will cook, then use the core plan. If you rely on ready meals/convenience foods then use points.

good advice!

I lost 7 stone on the points plan with WW. (really pleased with myself so am showing off a bit but truly believe it is a brilliant diet that anyone can lose weight on if they follow - if I can....)

I have done a lot of slimming clubs. The only one that didn't feel like a diet was the core plan. It takes a wee while for your body to adjust but then I lost a stone and a half in a couple of months - no hunger. I did it online.

empen · 17/10/2007 22:06

I do have pictures but you would have to pay me obscene amounts of money to see fat pictures!
It took me 18months and now I feel like a bloody expert - I know the points value of everything and anything.
Am preggers at the mo so am planning my hasty return to the wonderful world of points as soon as feasible!

okay! well if you do not want to be a source of inspiration....lol

well done anyways!

Sorry, I made the mistake of showing people who did not know me 'fat' and they ridiculled me - so I have one photo on the inside of my wardrobe door and the rest are well hidden.
I was 17st 1 lb and am 5ft 6 and had boobs the size of bowling balls - trying to paint you a picture. 26yrsold

I just lost 2 stone on the points plan this year. I decided on points because I suffer from low blood sugar and need to snack regularly between meals. On core you are not supposed to snack ( apart from fruit ), so it just wouldn't have worked for me. I did eat a lot of core stuff anyway though, as I like to cook, but pointed it.

empen · 18/10/2007 17:24

I think I was probably a size 24 or something at my biggest and then got down to a comfy size 12. It took about 18months.

I had and still have loose skin - it has never really pinged back! The worst area was my tummy so my doctor got me a tummy tuck on the NHS (I would not recommend it though). I think your skin will either ping or not. I have always been prone to stretch marks which goes to show I don't have pingy skin! My arms are a bit flappier than I would like and the same on the tops of my legs but the surgery to remove that leaves horrendous scars!

Pipsqueak - the best tip I can give - once you have lost a bit of weight sometimes you can hit a plateau. Write down everything you eat for a week and then completely change it - for the next week do not eat anything you had the previous week. It enables you to refocus on points/calories and portion control and also gives your body a quick up the arse. I promise it works.

pipsqueak · 18/10/2007 17:59

thanks for teh tip empen -- that is exactly what happens to me and i get disheartened and undo all the good work so will certainly bear your tip in mind

ProfYaffle · 18/10/2007 18:11

I've just lost 21lbs on points (5lbs still to go). Personally I'm most comfortable with points, as was mentioned earlier it's easier to snack which suits me. I found on the Core Plan i'd stuff myself at meal times to make sure I wasn't hungry til the next meal and I didn't lose weight. Points forces me to think about portion size which I need.

I always cook from scratch btw.

empen · 18/10/2007 20:57

I love 'no point soup' too
