Please recommend me a diet?

I'm looking for a diet to do to lose a bit of weight quickly as a kick start. I've never dieted in my life, and I generally eat healthy and have always exercised. I had a baby earlier this year and have unfortunately been unable to breast feed and have not shifted any weight - I'm 3stone more than my pre-pregnancy weight and have gone up two dress sizes. I feel ready to start a gentle fitness routine but as I had a c-section this had to be incredibly gentle. So I thought a little bit of a diet might help kickstart me before Xmas. As I'm not bf I can do this safely.

My metabolism is normally very slow and in pre-pregnancy if I wanted to stay a slim size 12 I had to achieve a baseline of 1300 calories a day max (once exercise all factored in). I'm 5'10". So I think calorie counting is a good fast way to kick start my weight loss.

I've never done a slim fast diet but wondered if there's a healthy natural version if this type of idea around? Eg meal replacement and healthy dinner? I think I'd find this achievable as being at home in lockdown I'm not rushing around like I normally do so I think I could stick to a strict daytime plan for a few weeks. However I'm not keen on slim fast as it seems to be sweet shakes or long life soups and doesn't seem particularly nutritious sad I don't have a sweet tooth.

Are there any more healthy meal replacement type diets out there that have worked fit people? Or anything quick and easy I can do during the day time and then have a hot healthy meal for dinner?

I really want to drop a few pounds so give me that boost, but can't do a ton of exercise yet apart from walking.

Thanks!

I had a baby this year to and I’m 3 stone heavier after both babies. Used to weigh just over 8 stone and I’m now 11.3

I’m trying to now just eat 3 meals a day and not snack. See how that goes for a while, otherwise I end up starving myself all day and eating all evening!

Thanks for this! I think I need something slightly more drastic for me, as my metabolism is so slow! :-( I don't generally snack except for apples and I only eat yoghurt for breakfast but I'm still overweight. So I'm looking for a drastic short sharp burst type thing to kick start me!

Congratulations on your two babies! :-)

What about Weight Watchers, just normal foods but proven to work.

I’m currently calorie counting with my fitness pal. You put in current and target weight and it adjusts your daily calories to lose 1-2 lb a week. It has a bar code reader so I just scan the food and the amount, say 75g of pasta and it adds it all up, easiest one I’ve done.

Have a look at the Joe Wicks 90 day plan. Highly, highly recommended!

Fasting (18:6 or 20:4) and walking /running at least 5kms per day.

My metabolism is dreadful and I struggle terribly to lose weight but this seems to be slowly but surely helping.
