Lockdown/ Countdown - 8 week weight loss plan till xmas!

Since many of our lives are going to have more restrictions till the end of the year, I thought I would try and use this time positively. Weight loss definitely. Perhaps some form of fitness/health/bodywork.

Would anyone like to join me? Any plan, any stage, any age! (I'm 58 btw). I am in the third and (hopefully) final stage of my weight loss journey.

My plan is to spend the first 2 weeks just eating less and eating better - to make it a bit easier on myself to start. I've been through a lot recently and I need to be a bit gentle with myself for the first stage I think. Then after that I am planning more ambitious to push for some results. I find it hard to lose weight, partly my age, so I know this will all be a concerted effort.

I started yesterday. I'll post today's food later ...

Me! I put weight on last time and I'm determined not to do the same again. I'm not following any particular plan, just trying to cut out the sweets/choc type stuff and eat more veg.

Planning on some home workouts and will fit in walking when I can.

Sounds good, Positive.

It would be nice to arrive at the end of the year feeling better and healthier!

I’m starting slow ... will post more tomorrow

Meeee! Can I join in? I'm squishy Grin I desperately need accountability!

Hello Callcat!

Yes its good to have some accountability and somewhere to chat about it if you feel like it.

I think around 8 weeks seems like a good time before the end of the year etc. Enough time to make some good progress with a mince pie at the end of the tunnel, lol. I've cut out high cal/high carb stuff the last few days. Eating nuts, apples, scrambled eggs, soup etc and a rather unpleasant M&S mini roast dinner ready meal !

Can I hop on please? Finding WFH very bad for my snacking habits and lack of exercise. Planning to start from today with no snacking and trying to get some yoga and walks in. Will worry about meals etc once those things are established

Hi, can I join? I started the last lockdown at 10.9 1/2 and have been losing slowly since then - currently 10.0 3/4. I want to get down to 9.6. My main motivation is that I want to do a huge wardrobe sort-out! Get to the weight I want to be (and which is sustainable) then get rid of all clothes that are either too big or too small.

The only diet that seems to work for me is Dukan. It’s very strict but the weight comes off quickly and I don’t feel hungry. I don’t mind being bored with food, but I can’t bear being hungry. I love eating out and a few glasses of wine Blush so lockdown is the perfect opportunity to avoid temptation!

helenb706 · 05/11/2020 12:29

Yes please... I have piled it on and it makes me sad!

PositiveLife · 05/11/2020 12:35

I'm going ok so far, considering how much stress I'm dealing with. Just need to keep the motivation to make effort.

Anyone got ideas for a quick, filling breakfast? That's the meal I seem to struggle with most

TeaRose29 · 05/11/2020 12:57

Hi Positive, for breakfast I like 100g of Total 0% Greek yogurt and 100g of the 5% mixed together, or just 200g of the 0% if I feel like going hardcore 😬😬. To this I add 1 tbs oat bran (this is Dukan) and/or 12g toasted almonds, vanilla essence and some SF jelly. Quick to make and keeps you going for hours.

I find an apple surprisingly satiating! Or a couple of scrambled eggs?
