Anyone doing Callanetics out there?

Hi

I've had the tapes for years but found a board that swears by the exercises. I have done four hours and can see a bit of a difference in thighs and stomach.

Anyone else?

Thanks

M

I did that years ago -- it HURT! Got me thinking I might dig out videos as it did work... but the pain... oh the pain..

On the recommendation of other crazy mumsnetters I ordered it a few months ago, I did them a bit, very sore! I prefer my yogalates dvd but intend to get back to both very soon.
I find that I can't do half of it so then I make fun of it instead

I used to do it, and it did work. I should consider doing it again really, shouldn't I? It is quite a long set of exercises though (an hour I think) and none of it is aerobic so you would also have to have a long walk or something.

I've just remembered that I can't do it anymore (even if I wasn't terminally lazy) as we don't have a video player anymore, only a dvd recorder.

aha, no excuse! I got a dvd copy on ebay dirt cheap! (though I still say yogalates is better)

Blimey... this brings back memories. I borrowed a callanetics tape after having DS. It was what got me back into my work clothes in six months.

Bloody hard work if I remember. Whole tape took just over an hour and that Callen Pickney woman had a very annoying voice.

I never got the hang of the tip-toes, thrusting pelvis in and out one.

Hi

I've just done my sixth hour. I can see a difference in my stomach and thighs. My jeans are very loose on my thighs now and I can see my stomach pulling in although got loads of flab on it still.

I'm going to try to do Callanetics several times a week and hopefully post some results.

Anyone into doing a Callanetics challenge in the lead up to Christmas?

M

Noo way. It was very hard work and time consuming. It was ok while DS was asleep and I was on mat leave, but no time (or inclination) nowadays.
