Pedometer Club week 17

Tommy · 16/10/2004 11:19

Hi all. My total for this week is

47,260

Not great but better than last week (again) so I must be improving! Excuses this week include the fact that I don't think my ped is working properly as sometimes it clearly doesn't count the steps I do! Ah well.....
Who else is going to be brave?

Tommy - Guess I'll be brave too, and say that my weekly total is 64,736 which is a much better week for me than I've had recently. I agree about wondering if the pedometer is working properly.....sometimes I'm amazed at how much it's registered, and other times I think it reads suspiciously low. Who knows.....maybe it all averages out.

Anyone else care to share your walking week?

JoolsToo · 16/10/2004 20:26

I got my pedometer last week and did two days - one day was about 5,000 steps and the other about 6,500 - but thats just normal movement iykwim - so I've taken it off until I'm in the proper mood for making a better effort to get to 10,000 a day.

my total is rubbish this week - forgot it once, and one day I'm sure it wasn't counting properly, so only got 42,250, but deffinitely wasn't as active this week. must try harder

Tommy · 17/10/2004 19:51

Thanks ernest - I didn't come last this week!
EB - I'm doing a scientific experiment on mine tomorrow after a ridiculously high total last Monday - I'm going to do the same journey and see if it comes out the same. It counted 12,000 last week and I'm sure I didn't do loads more than a usual walk-to-town day so I'll give it another go and see.
Good luck this week

Tommy - will be interested to hear the results of your experiment. My pedometer often seems to vary from suspiciously low to bizarrely high.

I'm already off to a very slow start this week as I don't think I achieved 10,000 for Saturday and Sunday combined! . Must get seriously walking from tomorrow, or I will have another week of being too embarrassed to report!

So far have registered 3,000 fewer steps than the same day last week! I did go into 2 other shops last week but never that many steps worth. I think it may have something to do with which trousers I'm wearing - tighter ones are better at keeping it in place. I might try wearing it facing inwards tomorrow to see if it makes any major difference!
