Has anyone lost weight by making themselves busy?

I think I overeat because I’m bored and somewhat unfulfilled with the day to day drudgery of life.
I thought if I started making my life more interesting then maybe the weight will come off? The idea is to replace snacking with fulfilment, if there is such a thing.
Has anyone tried this with success?
What kind of things did you do?

I would agree. If you're thinking about other things you're not thinking about food.
I find that sewing in the evening stops me snacking as I can't see and eat at the same time.

I do one meal a day whilst at work as I’m so busy I don’t stop. On the weekends I find this near impossible as I do stop, sit, make meals for DC’s, plus at present there’s less on so more time to sit and eat. Boredom definitely leads to eating!

Hi OP. I am coming up 36 this year and have always been a size 6, occasionally gone up to an 8.
I'm not sure if this is a genetic thing, the males in particular in my family are all slim, but there are things that I do on a day to day basis as part of my personality that I do believe help.
I have OCD for order in my house, everything has to have its place. This means that rather than leave things on the stairs to go up, for example, I take them up.
Any washing that needs to go up or down, I do as soon as I know it needs doing. This means that in am up and downstairs a lot on an average day. I also don't drive, instead walk short distances and bike longer distances. Last year I worked as a carer and my designated area was the town centre, of which I am four miles from. I got up early very morning, freshener up with a shower, stuck on my headphones and off I went. Fantastic mood booster also.
So my secret, if it is one, is if something needs doing, don't think about it, do it. Jeep busy, decorating, gardening, dance where you can.
The only other things are that I have been Vegetarian for fifteen years and drink wine instead of beer. Too much wine if I'm totally honest 😂
Hope this helps and good luck 😊xx
