DS2 is now 6mo and I’m fed up with feeling flabby. I’m only about 2kg off my pre-pregnancy weight, but would love to shift about 5kg in total. Most importantly I want to get fitter and stronger - and healthier!

Anyone care to join me?

Following with interest! My second DC is now 10 months and it's time. No idea how to do this though as I've never really done any proper exercise before and my poor body is ruined! Would love to be stronger, esp core strength... Have tried some yoga videos but am invariably sat on by a toddler one minute in!

Welcome! To our very small club Grin Yes, same. I’m planning to make some changes to my diet as I know that’s the main thing for weight loss. I have a habit of snacking- as soon as I get in the kitchen, I’m snaffling about looking for crackers or something... DH encourages me to drink more than I should be too (not much! A glass a night, or so, but it’s unnecessary).
But I’m stuck for ideas for exercise. I started C25k, but was scared for my pelvic floor and also have a bad knee...

Oh yes to the snacking! And the wine - we drink much more often at the moment. Lots of friends have done really well with C25k but I'm with you, my c section tummy kind of bounces when I run and the thought of it is just too unpleasant! I have high hopes for swimming once that is back on the agenda...

Can I join? My DD is 12 weeks but I think lockdown is a good time to try and lose weight- it's not like I'm going out for dinner or coffee and cake at the moment! I have been doing slimming world and lost half a stone so far.

Me too!!
I’m almost 6 months PP. Not too bad from a weight perspective but wobbly! Booze and toast are my downfall 😬

Hi! Nice to have the support! What’s everyone’s plan of action?

Ahh I hate swimming with a passion, @MusicMother I know it’s good for me but I can’t stand it, never have done. I used to love Zumba but I’ve not been for about 3 years, since ny first pregnancy was too far along to continue.

Good work @FrugiFan ! How’re you finding SW? Have you done it before?

@ChelseaCat Same here, sooo wobbly. What’s your approach going to be?

I have done slimming world before, I lost weight before I got pregnant but obviously put some back on during pregnancy! I find it quite easy, once you get into the swing of it. I have to meal plan in advance.

Morning! How’s everyone doing?

DH and I are now on a bit of a health kick- online shopping came yesterday and we’re going to be having lots of lovely big salads for lunch from now on. I bought seeds for some variety, lots of veggies, we’ve got goat’s cheese, it’s gonna be great!

I also bought my toddler a scooter, so any worries about exercising have gone out of the window because I’m now running (literally!) after him for 1-2hs a day! Trying to up my fruit intake. I find hot weather really helps with all of this- easier to remember to keep hydrated and i start to really fancy fresh food, nothing stodgy or too fatty or fried.

Have decided to share a personal trainer with my SIL who is also postpartum, but have yet to find someone to train us... One step at a time!

Ooh can't I join please? My 2nd baby just turned 6 months and I'm ready to sort myself out!

Exercise wise I'm doing the mutu system, I did start a few weeks ago and didn't stick at it but I've just started again and determined to carry on this time! I want to lose at least 5kg, ideally 7, but my main goal is to flatten my tummy! I still look about 4 months pregnant Sad

I definitely need to cut down on the wine too! I'm sure that would help a lot.

Welcome! Same here on the wine although I’m managing to cut down because currently I’m being woken multiple times a night by both children, it’s like they’re tag-teaming Sad ... so I find it easier to resist because it’s just not worth it.

How’re you finding the MUTU system? I just googled it!

Oh I know that feeling! I've had a few nights like that recently, as soon as I've got one back to sleep the other wakes up!

I like the mutu system, it's actually pretty easy to stick to exercise wise as it doesn't take up much time at all! The diet is where I'm letting myself down at the moment Blush but I can feel my core getting stronger and I'm getting less back ache so it's definitely doing something!

Well I’ve come back to the thread after a busy time lately. Baby’s sleep is terrible which isn’t helping, but I’ve got a trial session with a personal trainer this week! Quite excited, actually. Also scared...

Can I join? I'm breastfeeding so unsure what to do diet wise really. Baby is 8 weeks and I'm constantly starving. With DC1 I found the weight just went and I hovered around a few pounds off pre pregnancy weight with no effort. This time around I've not lost a single ounce since he was a week old. I want to exercise but I find myself lying around as much as I can get away with at the moment
