How to combat emotional eating

Food makes me happy, not bad unhealthy food, just all types of yummy things from all around the world. And there lies the problem!

I work from home, so the fridge is always there. I’ll potter round the house and casually snack on something and then some more blah blah blah!!

I’m not grabbing crisps, biscuits or chocolate but I will eat walnuts and cheese and whole grain cereals, along with other things.

Can anyone offer some tried and tested tips to STOP the snacking?! I’ve tried portioning out an acceptable amount of snacks, which I eat and then help myself to more!!

I do the same when working from home - I found getting a selection of different fancy teas helped as I would brew some tea and get some sweetness from it and that would distract me enough. I use Bird & Blend teas they have the most amazing selection and it changes all the time.

I found that too. Scheduling in exercise used to help me (something I enjoyed, even if a ten minute walk and not working in the kitchen!. I have to say though always a struggle when cakes and biscuits are on hand, mind you even at work if the cakes and biscuits are accessible they’ll be eaten !

I keep the contents of my kitchen to the minimum, no snacks in the house Sad
