Hi there’s another thread about weight loss but it’s been going on a while do I thought rather than hi jack the thread I’ll start a new one!

I’m feeling really depressed, anxious and just generally hopeless. I know loosing weight won’t suddenly give me my dream life but it will be one way to feel good about self after all these years of feeling down.

Who wants to join me? I’m starting from tomorrow. I’m here drinking my last glass of red and eating Lindt kindle chocolate! Please someone reply back and just offer some support

I totally understand how you feel. Have been feeling the same myself.

A friend was saying that to lose weight, a bit of competition is healthy so a few of us have got together and made a whatsapp group where we give all of our stats and have to then clock in every week with our progress. You can do it via diet or exercise, whichever you feel comfortable with. The group is there to support each other morally and give encouragement to each other.

Once you get started, you will feel so so much better.

Me! Ugh I just never lose anything. When I look in the mirror I think I look alright but my stats say otherwise. I can’t do high impact exercise at the moment either as my feet are shit so I’m doing walking daily and 16:8 fasting. I need to cut carbs though really. I had to buy my biggest clothes ever yesterday. I’ve always been big and more or less the same size but I’m realising my shape has changed since having my kids and I just feel so much worse than ever.

Don't be sad, Mia. Losing weight is something you can definitely do and it will definitely cheer you up when you see results. I think of it kind of like a game. I started playing on 1 July. Pick a play style that you like; I enjoy the social aspect of Slimming World, I enjoy the data analysis aspect of calorie counting and now I'm exercising as well so that brings its own goals and challenges. But there are so many ways to play. Maybe you will enjoy low carb or paleo or Whole 30 or Weight Watchers or keto or intermittent fasting.

There's bound to be something that you can take to and you will feel amazing when you see progress. Plus there's always that beginner's luck element with dieting where you see impressive weightloss in the early weeks no matter what you do. Try to have fun with it. I've lost 20 pounds so far and I still let myself have a bit of chocolate here and there so it's not all doom and gloom.

@Mia3456, have a gentle, easy day today. Rest if you can, sweet tea for shock. Start your new eating plan tomorrow. If you have spare time today, maybe look up a few low-calorie recipes that you will enjoy trying.
