Exante. Day 1. Anyone else?

VLCDoingIt · 17/08/2019 17:15

Just started Exante this morning.

Hoping to do it for 12 weeks and be 3 stone down before Christmas. (will still have a lot more to lose after)

Strict 3 shakes a day. 2 litres of water.

Anyone else doing VLCD and want a buddy?

Am starting next week but really happy to be your exante diet buddy.

VLCDoingIt · 18/08/2019 10:09

Hi make, great :)

Have you ever done a VLCD before?

I've woke up feeling surprisingly OK.

Alwaysgrey · 18/08/2019 10:10

Starting Monday. I need to shift about 6 stone 😭

MrsHuffyPuff · 22/08/2019 17:17

Started Cambridge Diet on Tuesday. Going well, feeling good and in ketosis so hoping for a good week.

How are you finding Exante products?
I am supposed to be 3 products and 200cal meal or 4 products but am struggling to have it all so been having 2 products and 300-400cal meal (extra veg keeping protein as advised).

I used Diet Now shakes for 2 weeks in July and lost a stone but hated the shakes and being off work with kids was a killer.

Stoichiometry · 22/08/2019 19:35

I'm starting next week too (transitioning on starting on Thursday - hoping to be fully on my Sunday).

I've already lost 3.5 stone doing slim and save but had a long break for the summer (well I lost more than that but I've enjoyed a LOT of meals out and partying over the summer so I am 3.5 st down now). Hoping to lose 1.5 st+ in 8 weeks before taking a couple of weeks off for October half term and then hopefully back on again until Christmas or goal (whichever comes first!).

How has today been?

VLCDoingIt · 22/08/2019 20:03

I'm on day six and feeling great.

Had 3 x 200cal products today and just had a plain piece of white fish and veg with it as I just wanted a meal.

Some days I've just had products.

Weigh in tomorrow

MrsHuffyPuff · 22/08/2019 20:46

Do you have 4 products normally?
So pleased for you you’ll be rewarded tomorrow excited to hear your results!

MrsHuffyPuff · 22/08/2019 20:47

What is slim and save?
You have done amazing you must be so pleased and feeling fab!

VLCDoingIt · 22/08/2019 22:23

No. I usually have 3 products.

But you can have 3 and a 200cal meal

MrsHuffyPuff · 23/08/2019 10:08

According to my scales I am loosing but I do feel like I might be eating too much. I’m not hungry but I suppose the eating when not hungry is why I am obese Grin

I have a 21st and Wedding in October and am really stressed about them when I am this size.

Also my husband and I were 40 this year and our 10 year anniversary next week and we want to have a weekend away somewhere but after being a beached whale on the summer holiday and miserable I want to feel better for that.

I must have lost the same 3 stone about 5 times and never learn!! Blush

Stoichiometry · 23/08/2019 10:43

Slim and Save is another brand of VLCD meals - I prefer it to Exante.

Thank you! Yes, I was feeling amazing - now I don't even though I am still 3.5 st down as I can really feel the recent gain. Ten weeks of too much wine and lots of meals out has definitely taken its toll. I am remarkably accepting (big change) of this gain and not beating myself up at all - calorie wise it makes complete sense. It will take me several week to get back down to where I was - can't wait to feel amazing again!

If you're sticking to the plan then you're not eating too much - you may well be eating when you don't feel hungry (ketosis) but it is important to do so. You'll have 5+ weeks under your belt by October, enough time to make a big change in how you feel about yourself.

MrsHuffyPuff · 23/08/2019 12:37

Wine my favourite friend 🤣
Having a crap day at work and am really tempted to have a bottle tonight, mint tea just might not cut it!

There is not harm in indulging it’s really difficult during the summer holidays and your back on it.

I have 7 weeks, hopefully can shift close to 2 stone.

Stoichiometry · 23/08/2019 15:37

Sorry about the crap day at work @MrsHuffyPuff. Don't let it derail you - 7 weeks will fly by and you'll be so pleased you stuck to it!

I'm struggling a bit today in this hot weather - realised I have very little in the way of appropriate clothing in the correct size. I've got the one summer dress I now own in the wash but that is getting uncomfortably tight (sz 12) - last summer I was a sz 20 and I got rid of all of those and don't have anything inbetween...and don't want to buy anything either (might have to!).

MrsHuffyPuff · 23/08/2019 16:39

Wow! 20 to 12 that’s is amazing!

I have loads of clothes in a 20 to a 14 never managed a 12 in my adult life, hopefully this time.

VLCDoingIt · 23/08/2019 16:40

I've only lost 3lbs

Kinda disappointed but sticking to it.

OP posts:
VLCDoingIt · 23/08/2019 16:42

Do you think it's possible to get from an 18/20 to 10/13 in a year.?

OP posts:
MrsHuffyPuff · 23/08/2019 20:47

Aww VLCD don’t be disappointed. 3lb is a lot of weight is nearly 25% of a stone so 3 more weeks and there’s your stone!! If you were doing WW 3lb a week would be unusual.

I am about an 18/20 the now and am hoping to be in my 14s for Christmas so yes I think it’d be possible to be in a 12 this time next year.

VLCDoingIt · 24/08/2019 09:27

Another 1.5lbs this morning.

So 4.5 this week which I am really happy with :)

Stoichiometry · 24/08/2019 13:52

Well done @VLCDoingIt! Fab loss!

I went from a BMI of 37.6 down to a BMI of 25.9 and went from wearing a size 20 down to wearing a size 12 (Boden mainly). However, my measurements to start were more like a sz 22 (never worn anything bigger than a 20) and although my bust and hips measured a 12 my waist was still a 14. Odd as when I was slimmer in my twenties (BMI 22.5) I measured a 12 on my hips and bust and a 8/10 on my waist...I guess if I had continued to lose it would've come off my waist then. Hopefully I will get to find out before Christmas!

My summer of excess has me up to a sz 14/16 and a BMI of 29. I feel awful in comparison. It wasn't worth it!

giggleshizz · 24/08/2019 14:02

I'm jumping on to this. Planning on going back to Slim and save as soon as DC back at school. Lost a stone on it before in a short space of time. Need to lose 3-4 stone.

Feeling particularly shite as DMother (who was trying to be supportive) just told me that she can tell I've gained again and I flipped as I'm so sensitive about it. My wardrobe is full of size 16-18.... nothing fits. I'm literally reduced to wearing mu-mus.

Sorry for the rant but would love to lose a few stone before Christmas.

hopeishere · 24/08/2019 14:08

I've not heard of either of these. I though exante was that stuff that made you poo fat.

MrsHuffyPuff · 24/08/2019 15:47

Grin if only there was something to make me poo out all this fat!!

My first official weigh in is Tuesday but I think I am about 5lbs down.

Mums are great at the no holding back honesty. My Dad retired in April and he follows a Keto diet so my mum has loads loads of weight which doesn’t help her pointing out my huge gain. I feel your pain @giggleshizz

Stoichiometry · 25/08/2019 11:29

You can definitely lose a few stone by Christmas @giggleshizz! I'm also starting back with slim and save at the start of the academic year - I cannot wait to be back on now!

Sounds like you are in for a bumper first week @MrsHuffyPuff Grin

I think you are referring to fat binders like XLS medical @hopeishere. Exante/slim and save are meal replacement manufacturers for those wishing to follow a very low calorie diet.

giggleshizz · 25/08/2019 11:41

Definitely not starting until DD goes back to school, had a pizza last night after a day at the beach. I veer between 'I'll just be fat and happy' to 'I'm so fat and unhappy'

I'm Peri menopausal too which doesn't help

Makemedoit · 25/08/2019 13:40

I started cutting down last week and then started exante properly on Wednesday. Am not planning to weigh in until a week tomorrow and am hoping for about 7lb loss over the two weeks.
I am generally having 2 shakes a day and a small evening meal. Am drinking lots more water.
I am feeling quite headachy today probably as a result of cutting out all the rubbish. Has anyone else had this and how long does it last?
