Excess belly fat

Hi 👋🏼

I'm feeling very depressed today about my belly fat!

I'm slim, size 12 but my belly pushes me up to a 16 😱 I find it impossible to get trousers/shorts that fit, too small on the wait and to big on hips/ bum

Plus I know the middle is the most dangerous place to carry extra weight.

I do know that I need to exercise more but I'm a single mum and it's hard to find the time especially as when I've done all the chores I just want to flake! 🤣 I'm trying to change this.

I just wanted a moan really but any tips re. Diet to help? It does run in my family, mum has the same body shape.

Thanks!

Also I think its healthy to remember that tummies are naturally a little bit round on women. Dint be to hard on yourself.

I’m exactly the same shape. If I stop eating bread and pasta my stomach reduces in size really quickly, but I love them so it’s a wardrobe of a-line dresses for me!

Do you have high stress levels? I have heard that stress increases cortisol which apparently encourages fat to be laid down around the belly.

I am the same OP, even when I was 8 stone I had a belly. Mostly genetic but it's doing my head in and considering Lipo! Tired of not being able to wear skirts, trousers and jeans easily, and only A line type tops, jumpers and dresses. Also struggling to lose any weight on a low calorie diet but that's another story!
