Is 7lbs in 3 weeks achievable?

I've been dieting for 8 weeks, but I haven't really been sticking to it rigidly if I'm entirely honest. I've been cutting back a lot but still been having a huge takeaway at the weekend and stuff like that.

I have actually lost half a stone in 8 weeks, but it's much less than I'd have liked.

I go on holiday in 3 weeks and 5 days, and I've got another half a stone to get to a weight that I find acceptable. (10 stone at 5foot5).

Is it achievable? I'm exercising 4-5 times a week but at the same time I don't want to be too drastic with the calories or I'll feel too weak to exercise.

1200 calories per day only and you can achieve it. Use My Fitness Pal to log.

Totally agree with @Exitstrategist.

It's achievable if you don't deviate. I lost 8lb in 3 weeks, 15lbs in six.

I've just lost 7lbs in exactly that time.

This is how I've done it

40g porridge with water
Chicken/ham/eggs/fish with salad veg (no dressing), piece of fruit
Dinner, anything for about 600/700 calls, keeping carbs to a minimum
Whoegrain cereal in the evening if still hungry

No booze or snacks. Tea and coffee with milk.

It was hard to begin with, but watching the weight come off (weighed myself every day) was a big incentive.

Thanks guys, very encouraging.

I'm annoyed that I didn't try harder sooner but hey ho.

Luckily I don't drink so booze won't be a problem, I just love my food too much.

I am also trying to do exactly that and it is coming off according to the scales but can't see any change yet.

A quick way to lose weight (with no calorie counting) is to eat your protein and carbs at separate meals and fruit on an empty stomach, not as dessert. Also eat slowly , really tasting the food and cut right down on tea and coffee. Have loads of water and herbal teas.

I know it works I lost a stone without even trying when I did it.

The most I lost was 6lb in one week so it is definitely achievable.

Dungarees · 28/06/2019 09:06

Knitting how did you manage to lose that much?

@Dungarees I was following Slimming World then (I follow 5:2 diet now). Just followed the plan 100% and kept my syns to a bare minimum. It was my very first weigh in though, and after that I was losing 1.5-2lb a week.

StickyProblem · 28/06/2019 09:43

I'd say be careful if you are exercising that much. Cut out sweets and high calorie treats but make sure ypu are getting enough carbs and protein to fuel all that exercise. Also drink plenty of water. Good luck!

Sicario · 28/06/2019 09:44

It's doable but you have to be really strict with yourself.

Knobrob · 28/06/2019 10:01

If you eat low calorie low carb then yes. But your glycogen stores weigh about seven pounds so they majority won't be fat.

Dungarees · 28/06/2019 11:45

I'm not doing low carb, I'm doing 1000-1200 calories and loads of cardio.

Surely at least some of it would be fat?

Sticky's right I lost the weight in a week and did no extra exercise at all. !
