Can't stop snacking

As summer approaches I need to stop snacking on unhealthy food but don't know how! Anyone got any tips?

I pop my own corn...the plain kernels which you buy in big bags. Then I put salt on them. That's instead of crisps.

Water with ice. You feel like you're crunching something. Eating more protein with your meals....that fills you up and stops you having a low where you look for a sugar rush.

Also make a bit of a fuss with EVERYTHING you eat. Sit at the table for meals...lay the table properly. Even an apple should be eaten on a plate and sitting at the table.

This helps stop mindless chowing.

Eat more protein, snack on ham, turkey slices, make up chicken or tuna salad.

I do not have the tempting foods in the house and I am always trying to distract myself

Green tea- and go to bed early, (tv+me= snacking)

Just tell yourself you don't do that any more. Take one decision at a time, and eventually it'll be true.

Drink more water (or tea).

Desire to snack often comes from thirst rather than hunger (it is very easy to confuse the two) and we tend to be more thirsty in summer.

This may be controversial...
The muscles controlling your hands and arms are powered voluntarily ie. one has control over them.

I suggest that you stop using your hands to convey snacks to your mouth and refrain from touching the items you would rather avoid.
