Food for a day!

I struggle massively with portion control and what I eat. I loosely follow weight watchers and swim a few times a week.

I'm looking to up my exercise and really adapt my diet to ensure I'm doing my best. Feel awful about myself these days.

Can I ask what a typical day of food looks for you? I'm terrible at snacking, eating too much or eating the wrong things and looking for inspiration from you lovely lot.

Tomorrow I have planned:

Breakfast - heck chicken italia sausages, turkey rashers and fried egg all using fry light
Snack - sugar free jelly
Lunch - homemade vegetable soup, 2 slices of bread with butter, weight watchers yoghurt, fruit
Dinner - beef stroganoff with boiled rice from Tom kerridge cook book

Will swim 1 mile after work before I have dinner.

Does this seem a reasonable day of eating? I'm 5ft 6 and 9st 13.5 just now. I want to get down to 9st, although I'm fairly tall I have quite a small frame and carry all my weight round my tummy, hips and bum so look really out of proportion.

Hi OP I have been losing weight steadily since January. So far I have lost 17lbs. I still have 3 stone to go but I am looking at it as I am a quarter of the way there. A typical day for me looks like this.

Breakfast - If at work I tend to take overnight oats or something quick like weetabix or shreddies. If I am on a late or not working I will have either 2 poached eggs or scrambled eggs with mushrooms and tomatoes. I usually have 1 slice or sourdough toasted. I may make avocado or banana on toast for a change some days.

Lunch - If at work it tends to either be home made soup or left overs from previous nights dinner. If at home it may be soup, crackers with soft cheese, a pitta with salad and chicken breast or tuna.

Dinner - can be anything really. Tonight was a curry, I just have mine with less rice and add extra veg such as broccoli instead, I may have fish with salad, cottage pie, etc. I usually eat the same as the rest of the family but just have smaller portion of the main and fill up on veg. My plate is always at least half veg or salad.

I don't tend to snack during the day but usually have some kind of snacky supper in the evening.

I only drink water or tea for the most part. I will sometimes have sparkling water with slices of lemon and lime, makes me feel like I am having something a bit fancier than normal water.

Things that I have in as snacks are - Hard boiled eggs, Seafood sticks, Crackers, Oatcakes, Babybel, Greek Yogurt with frozen berries. Cooked chicken breast sliced up in a container in the fridge, things like pickled onions, gerkins, cherry tomatoes and a baby bell cut up small are savoury and tasty. I make a big pot of soup every week and use this for lunches and have the odd mug of soup as a snack.

I hope this helps.
