Hi everyone

So panic has set in for my holidays. I need to lose a stone in 8 and half weeks. Is this doable?!

Any hints and tips gratefully received x

Yeah that's enough time. There are lots of diets and most of them work fine. Intermittent fasting is my preferred option.

I lost a stone In 8 weeks-I did l join the gym but I have a 3 year old so I only managed to go once a week when she was at pre-school but I used to do an hour and a half walk twice a week taking her to ballet and music class too -
I think the way I lost most weight though was by reducing my portion sizes - I know that 10 lighter home chips are about 100 grams, a wrap is better than two slices of bread and I only ever have 1 slice of toast -I stopped snacking and have brown pasta and rice it's more filling and you need less of it to feel fill! It was hard at first I felt hungry a lot but now my appetite is less! I also signed up to the My Fitness Pal app so I could check I wasn't going majorly over my calorie goal - good luck x

Thanks you for replying. @MummyBearBoo sounds like a similar approach I'm taking. I'm on a calorie reduced diet to 1500 calories a day, gym twice a week and going to walk when I can. I.e I'm walking the 4 miles into town this afternoon to the cinema. I'm also cutting out the junk apart from the odd treat. I'm also thinking of doing a detox/3 day cleanse nearer the time as a final push. Just guess it's all common sense - cut of the junk, cut down on portions, eat more veggies and get moving! X

Yeah it's pretty common sense my goal is to lose 1lb a week now I've lost most of it which means my calorie goal is 1340 a day! Now I've started eating less anyway I find it fairly easy to stay inside that i have the odd day where I eat more than it - I struggle to get anywhere near my limit on gym days coz that means I can eat about 1800 calories and I can't eat that much anymore!! As long as you have at least £1k calories a day and protein after exercise it should be ok otherwise your body would conserve fat and go into starvation mode and your muscles need protein to repair themselves! Let us know how you get on!!
