Has anyone tried this?

I'm starting today and I've been fishing about on the Internet for advice. I really want to go cold turkey on my sugar cravings, and this programme seems very good for that. Would love to hear from anyone who has given it a go. I feel like once I'm passed the first few days it will be pretty easy, but I could be deluded!

I'm also trying the 30 day shred at the same time. Kind of worried I'm setting myself up to fail!

I’ve done it and though it was so difficult, I felt amazing! I think the first 3 weeks were easy and then had couple days of insane cravings but I didn’t fall off the wagon. I’d say plan in advance what you’re eating and maybe meal prep as well. Definitely worth it

I meant it was difficult because I’m a rubbish cook and ate pretty much boiled/roasted/raw veggies and some meat. So very plain and boring. I just can’t think of new recipes. And because I didn’t have cravings at first it was easy. Hope that makes any sense 😂

Wow those pictures are incredible! How much did you lose do you mind me asking?

I’m a pretty rubbish cook but tbh I think plain food will help me not over think about it!!

I am on day 25 and feel fantastic. I have a haitus hernia and associated reflux, and have had no reflux at all since starting and not needed to take any medication either.

Like you I mainly wanted to rid my life of sugar. I was “lucky” enough not to have any cravings the first week because I had flu and had a much reduced appetite and no energy to play games on my phone let alone raid the cupboards for something to feed my sugar dragon! I had planned to start on 7th Jan back in November and if I had put it off it would never have happened.

For me the worst thing has actually been not weighing myself. I cannot tell you how badly I want to step on the scales!! But my clothes are definitely looser and I gained a new belt hole. Yay!

Also, I have never really enjoyed drinking water, but I now can’t get enough of the stuff!

I start reintroduction next week, and am interested how I react to things. I am definitely going to stay away from the sugar though.

Good luck! How was the first day?

I lost 7kg so about a stone. I have since then gained some of it back because I started renovating a house and was too busy cooking meals. Excuses I know.. I’m thinking of doing it again to feel better and boost my weight loss

I did this a couple of years ago. It wasn’t too difficult once I got into the habit, and I felt really good by the end- so much so that I kept going for a few months. You have to meal plan rigorously and follow the rules for it to work well, and you may feel a bit wobbly in the early days- there’s a really useful timeline bit on the website which tells you what to expect. I recommend it as a sort of ‘reset’ to get you off sugar and break bad habits, but I’ve now moved on to a more general hflc way of eating.

Thanks all! I’m on day 4 and really loving it generally, although I’ve been over dependant on fruit and nuts to see me through. Hoping to wean off those a bit more next week as I know they are supposed to be sparing!

Hi I think we're on the same day? Day 5 today for me too. Hoping for miracles... what have you been eating?

^^

Not 100% certain if we are allowed or link to stuff on here but there you go! Wasn't sure what whole 30 is, so thought I'd share what I found.

Newfitme, you look amazing! What a difference a stone makes.

Acrasia · 06/02/2019 08:11

How was week one?

I start reintroduction today, which also means I got to weigh myself! I’ve lost 14.5 lbs!!

If I can do it, you can do it! Keep going!!
