OK, ladies, here we go, no change for me (a distressingly delicious cakey weekend at a local festival) but I am quite determined to get back to my briefly sylphlike shape this summer. Hope you're all doing better.

I have no idea what's going on then.
Thanks ever so much for trying.

I'll just keep posting my weight each week and the rest of you can chuckle at my lack of progress!!

Smalline · 17/06/2007 23:28

I know that I haven't weighed in this week, but I will next week. Furball just thought I would let you know that I haven't received this weeks chart either.

Furball · 18/06/2007 07:15

yikes - whats going on............

Anyone else not got it?

Eddas · 18/06/2007 08:26

Hello ladies, may I join you please?

In desperate need of losing about 2 1/2 - 3 stone after having my baby in April and am lacking motivation, so I need some moral support

Furball · 18/06/2007 08:43

course you can Eddas - A new thread is started each Tusday and we post our weights - or just your loses if you don't want everyone to know.
We also have a chart with everyones names on and how much they have lost, so we can all see how well everyone else is doing, which I email out ona Thursday.

What sort of diet are you going to follow?

Eddas · 18/06/2007 09:48

Thanks furball, i'll wait til tomorrow then and post my weight.

Will you include me on your emails please, [email protected]

Was going to follow weight watchers since i've done that in the past. If i don't get on with it i'll try something else. Thing is I know where my problems lie, I eat too much chocolate, crisps and was drinking too much coke. I have managed to stop drinking coke but the chocolate is a very big weakness

I know if i can cut them out and eat more fruit and veg(as these are severely lacking in my diet) then I will probably lose weight. Also need to make sure my dinner portions aren't too big. Since i moved in with dh 6 years ago i tend to put alot more on my plate and subsequently eat more without actually needing it.

Any tips from anybody on actually sticking to the diet would be grately received as I DO NOT have any willpower!

Thanks

Welcome, Eddas, good to have you along. I know this sounds like it won't work, but it did help me (and other people) - get a smaller plate. It really does make a small meal look bigger. Another thing which works for me is to stay out of the kitchen in the evening, (hard, I know) especially for the first twenty minutes after I've eaten. I'm often still hungry after dinner, and roam around looking for Bombay mix or bread and Marmite, but if I manage to do something else for a while my system digests enough so that I'm not hungry any more.

heavybee, thanks for the tips. When I went to ww they did say to use a smaller plate. I'm gonna go off and get some small dinner plates now!!

Also, I know what you mean about waiting after you've eaten. I keep telling dh to wait as he wolfs down his dinner then sets about prowling the kitchen

Another thing I am guilty of is not drinking enough. I think I sometimes confuse needing a drink with being hungry. So today I really wanted some biscuits but I had some fruit juice instead. As it's sweet it kept the craving at bay.

I am proud to say I haven't eaten chocolate or crisps today and I refused a lolly after dinner Although i'm normally ok on day one it's the rest that I struggle with.

Right am off to find some grapes and maybe a glass of water!

WelshGirlie · 18/06/2007 18:36
