I have just joined sw online and day three its ok but i. Confused. Should i be aiming to only have free foods and avoid syns altogether or can i incorporate them in my diet? Syns are bad arent they?

Also ive just ate a big plate of shepherds pie and beans and thats free?? Really?

Syns are there to be used. It's a balanced plan to have speed foods, free foods, healthy extras and syns. You can use your syns on things like olive oil or avocados/olives if you want to rather than biscuits/crisps/alcohol.

You’re allowed a daily allowance of syn foods ( need to check what yours is ). Some people like to avoid them all together if thy can. Or you can collect them all and use them up all together like for the weekend or if you have a party coming up. I used my syns daily. I had spaghetti bologna’s that was all free too. It’s hard to believe but it works.

I know quite a few people who have said it works for them but I discovered that no, you can't eat as much spag bol and shepherds pie as you like and still lose weight. But i am very greedy Grin

The trick is - eat until you are full. If you plate up a massive portion and eat whilst watching tv/on your phone etc then you don't notice when you are full and suddenly you're stuffed and the foods gone.
Incorporating syns into your daily diet will make it feel less like a diet and more just eating a bit better.

My portions are bigger since joining SW and I've lost 2st11 in just over three months. I use my syns for treats (we were told you can't store up syns and once the day has passed you can't keep them) and for boosting up dinners like using Linda McCartney sausages.

Fill up on speed food and make good snacks. I make quiches with
150g Cottage Cheese (or Quark)
3 Eggs
Peppers, Sweetcorn, mushrooms, ham.
Blend cheese and eggs and add to silicone cake cases (or make a big one)
Add chopped veg
Bake for around 20mins at 200c/Gas Mark 4

They keep in the fridge for a few days and are great for grabbing and eating.

I am going to have to shop better for sure. My stomach is objecting though - its not used to so much fruit. Time will tell.
