I'm wondering whether this is a realistic challenge to undertake?

I'm currently around 13 stone dreaming of getting to 10.

365 divided by 42lbs = losing 1lb every 8 days

I can't decide whether to aim for 11 stone or 10! I need to get this weight shifted but don't want to ruin it by aiming high and being disappointed.

It's my birthday today and I've felt miserable looking at the photos taken of me Sad

If you give up sugar you can. Low carb high fat is the way to go but you have to really stick to it and the weight will fall off.

I've given it up before and found it so much better!

My problem is knowing how much fat I'm allowed and other things etc. Do you have any advice that will help?

Are you speaking from experience by the way? Smile

I've used my fitness pal before I liked it

I did no s and upped my exercise, and lost 3 stone in about 14 months. That included falling off the wagon a bit over Christmas, holidays, etc. I started at 12 stone 8, now 9 stone 8. It is do-able.

Pre surgical diet (still ate like a horse but just protien rich) and I lost 10kg in 21 days.

Still follow that diet but more calories and I'm down 75kg after surgery.

I'm 32 weeks pregnant so diet a bit different but totally doable.

Best tip - loads of water or sugar free squash, protien rich foods and even slam some slim fast style drinks in there too for treats or use as a breakfast drink.

But - give yourself a reward too - don't deprive yourself of something tasty!

I am aiming for 7st 8lb in 365 days.

I started 1st January 2018 at 17st 8. At about half way though the year I'm currently 12st 0, so I've lost 5st 8lb so far. I expect to be at target by September or so, but intend to carry on for the full year.

So 3 stone is definitely doable.

I'm not doing anything fancy and don't buy into any marketed diet plan. I (actually its "we", I have changed the diet of the whole family) am just eating very healthy meals, no snacking, exercising every day (I run) and aiming for 800-1000 calories per day. With my runs, that's easily 1000 calorie deficit per day, often more. I usually lose around 3lb a week - sometimes 4lb, sometimes 2lb.
