Meals only no snacks, anyone up for joining me?

I eat healthy food on the whole (loads of veg and lean protein, avoid frying and take always, no alcohol etc) and do loads of exercise but I’m a dreadful snacker

Evenings are worst but often my whole day is one long snack and no proper meals.

I graze essentially and rarely feel satisfied.
I can eat several of the same thing such as yoghurts or apples in one sitting. I get carb munchies and have crap carbs like rice cakes with jam or cereal.

It has to stop
I need to feel hungry, wait for my meal then sit and enjoy it and recognise that I’m full and stop kitchen surfing

Anyone else want to try and make changes and up for some mutual support?

Today hasn’t gone well as I decided to skip breakfast then ended up eating two bags of snack a jacks on the way home from the school run!

I’m now determined to wait until lunch and have soup and some protein and then wait until tea. It will be hard!

Me!!! I am so good all day....but crack around 5 when I’m making the kids’ supper and start eating....then it continues until bedtime. Loads and loads of cornflakes, chocolate, stupid kiddy crisp things, muesli bars.....it just goes on and on!!

I don’t have any answers, but I’d like to be a bit accountable about it. And lose some weight! So.....today I am 66.8kg. Would like to get to 65 as a start, then maybe 63.

I’m in the Southern Hemisphere so times a little weird, I also fast 2 days a week as a hangover from when I lost LOADS of weight on the 5:2 diet. So fasted today (only dinner and black coffee). Am starving and it’s bedtime....

Well good luck perisford with whenever your next evening is!
I had a good day, proper meals and minimal extras.
Averaage evening. Doubled up on a couple of things but got myself upstairs to clean my teeth before the major cupboard surfing could take hold

I felt hungry twice today, once really hungry. So that’s Good.
Tomorrow must stay strong!

I found the No S diet helpful. It’s not no sugar.

It’s

No snacks
No sweets
No seconds

Except (sometimes) on days that start with an S.

ill look at that - thanks!! Sounds good not, well done! How do you feel??

Evening here...have had supper....have choc in the fridge. Am going to have a delicious pear after the kids are in bed then brush my teeth and stop. It’s a dangerous evening - DH is working and I am knackered and bored.....

Notthatwomanagain · 04/05/2018 07:09

How did your evening go Persis?
Not so good for me yesterday. Are loads when I wasn’t even vaguely hungry
In fact I didn’t get properly hungry all day as grazed again

Determined today to be stricter. Rumbly belly here I come!

Have you tried drinking water. Instead of reaching for the snacks drink a glass of water. Drink 2 litres a day it really does work and stops the cravings.

PeggySchuylar · 04/05/2018 08:07

Cup of herbal tea or black coffee helps me, basically a hot drink.
I sometimes buckle and get a 200 + calorie mocha.

Also being more mindful of what was triggering me to snack. I was surprised that it wasn’t always Hunger on its own. Sometimes it was stress but mostly fatigue or lack of energy so I was snacking trying to get an energy boost.

PersisFord · 04/05/2018 08:22

Well....some chocolate was eaten....but not ALL of it, which is a start. And I ate lunch and supper today then some more choc...but not ALL of it, and I haven’t eaten any weird shit like raw porridge oats for 2 days!!

not thinking of you. The thing that helps me in the day as that I really like being STARVING for my meals now - so much more enjoyable. Things that stop me snacking in the day are water, coffee and occasional teaspoons of marmite. But in the evening nothing works, mostly because I’m completely not hungry, just bored/tired/fed up.....

Notthatwomanagain · 04/05/2018 18:02

Crap day again
Started ok- binged when I got home despite not being hungry
Trigger was knowing I had to head straight out again and thinking I didn’t want to be completely hungry if i had to wait and eat late

Actually that’s bollocks as I’m not out so long that I would have been and I could easily have taken stuff with me. Was just an excuse to fast eat crap

Need to make sure I don’t repeat it when I get back in.

I already drinks loads of tea dan coffee and water and Diet Coke and SF squash- drink all the time
It’s not hungry that triggers me

Sigh

Good luck tonight persis!!

Grin thanks not. We’ll get there. I had an extra portion of sausage casserole when I was tidying the kitchen for no obvious reason! Bored/tired/stressed.
