And its a poor show this week ladies, with me with no total as broke and havnt had time to change, although will do it today i promise. And we only have 3 people reporting in!!!!

So This weeks top scorer is EarlyBird with 58,923
then Tommy with 53,053
and Madambutterfly with 44,183

Not the highest scoring week weve had but the weather has been way to hot for walking, thats my excuse anyway.

My Kelloggs one works. I tested it by doing 20 left and right steps, and it had counted 40, so it was exactly right.

ernest · 12/08/2004 12:20

can I join in please/ What day does you week start and when do you report in?

Does anyone else find theirs doesn't count accurately unless you're walking really heavily? I never counted myself as a twinkle toes, and I'm certainly not that light, but it definitely doesn't count accurately if I'm just pottering round the house.

MadameButterfly · 12/08/2004 15:24

Welcome Ernest

We count from Saturday to Friday and email the results to CP3 at [email protected].

She then posts the results in a new thread when she has them all in.

Tommy · 12/08/2004 17:01

Ernest, you may need to adjust your step length - would that make any difference?

Chinchilla · 12/08/2004 21:38

Surely entering the step length is only to allow the pedometer to work out the distance you have walked? Usually they count steps by having an internal jiggly thingummy.

MadameButterfly · 12/08/2004 22:07

I have managed 16,000 today.

If I had been feeling better and got up early enough, we would have walked into town as well which would have added another 4-5,000 to my total.

Tommy · 12/08/2004 22:19

Yeah - you're right Chinchilla (especially about the jiggly thingamummy ) I realised that as soon as I wrote it but then didn't get round to correcting myself - my brain has turned to mush - got caught in the rain big time today

mummytojames · 14/08/2004 00:37

would the steps still count if i joined a gym and did it on a tredmill because in newport the weather has gone so eratic i never know if its ok to take ds out for a walk or not and i know i can do over five miles on a tredmill well used to do it easy anyway as i realy need to get back into shape fast

Tommy · 14/08/2004 11:22

absolutely M2J!

mummytojames · 14/08/2004 19:17

thanks tommy thats just given me even more a exscuse to treat myself to a day a week at the gym

Chinchilla · 14/08/2004 20:23

I did over 11,000 yesterday, but it made my sprained ankle feel really bad again . I suppose I was stupid, but it felt so much better. Will have to start again next week. What day does the week begin again?
