Am I a healthy weight?

I'm 9st 1 and 5ft 1. Is this ok? I feel I look huge but not sure if I have a distorted view.

Well it sounds fine but it depends on your build.

Ihatebuildabear · 04/04/2018 17:43

Not sure how to describe my build. I have nice slim legs. Slim wrists and ankles so really I'm meant to be tiny. Was always very tiny (7 1/2 stone) until late 20s.

Look at the NHS BMI checker, enter your height weight and gender and it will give you a BMI

Bishybarnybee · 04/04/2018 19:18

You are at the top end of the healthy BMI range for your height. So yes, you are a healthy weight.

But if you are used to being 1.5 stone lighter, you may feel a bit uncomfortable at that weight. And at 5.1 you're not tall - any extra pounds will make a big difference.

What changed in your late twenties ? Do you want to get back to where you were or could you learn to accept the higher weight?

I had kids! I've just lost a stone so I'm pleased about that. Would like to perhaps lose another half stone.

Ah, having kids will do that.....sounds like you're doing great, you're certainly not huge and you'll probably find you end up losing that half stone and settling at a good weight for you now.

You have a distorted view!

I'm not much taller than you..5'4...weighed 9 stone 7 all my life until having kids late 30's...bam. Now 12 stone and cannot for the life of me shift this weight. 12 stone IS heavy for my height and I'm definitely not slim any more.

But even at this heavy weight...I'm still not enormous.
