Eating Less: Say Goodbye to Overeating by Gillian Riley. Anyone want to start with me?

I've ordered this book and it arrives tomorrow. Have never done it before but have read some reviews and watched the short TEDx talk on YouTube and am hopeful it will help me.

I'm 10-14lbs over where I'd like to be, so I'm back in the middle-top of the healthy BMI range. I'm a SAHM and over eat because I'm bored/surrounded by food/emotional eater.

Does anyone want to join me in a support thread please?! I'm also hoping to start C25K for the first time ever on Monday Smile

Wrapped thank you so much for your post. Yes, it does feel all consuming and I'm very much struggling at the moment.

I like how you're balancing your meals and think that could be a very helpful way for me to eat, at the moment it's a complete rollercoaster between rigid rules (low carb) or no structure and eating junk constantly!

I've actually found my old copy of Eating Less but have also added Kindle version and Ditching Diets. I've made a start on that one already.

Thanks again.

I'm eating healthily, not counting calories etc. As it's hot I'm eating quite a bit of salad. Had Chicken salad tonight. Times and plans are working well for me.

You’re very welcome No I hope you post here with how you’re feeling, what you’re finding helpful. I am taking GR’s advice and not talking about this to anyone IRL so this board is really useful for me and I hope it will be for you too.

frustrated I’m having lots of salads too!

Does anyone have a plan for tomorrow? I’m working so I’m planning some full fat organic yogurt with a little bit of sugar and some raspberries and strawberries for breakfast then I’ll take a salad and some hummus to work with some more berries. Tea is a pre made lasagne that I’ll take out of freezer in the morning and we’ll have that with some vegetables. I have never in my whole life been so organised nor so calm about food. Normally a plan like that would for some reason make me panic and dive head first into the biscuit tin. GR would say that was rebellion I think! But now I’m choosing food that I love, and that’s maybe a bit expensive - nice hummus, berries and cherries - but I’m choosing it and enjoying it so I don’t feel deprived. It’s brilliant Smile

I've just started reading this book. Wow. Quite an eye opener to me. So many things to agree with - I really am a food addict. I just had no idea as I can rationalise anything. I feel my like my cover had been well and truly blown.
Hopefully approaching change from a different direction/perspective will give long-term results.
Starting with losing weight in order to be fitter, more energetic, more flexible etc has never paid off for me. Approaching this as looking after my health and well being should give all of the benefits above without one sole focus.

Great news ladies!

Help! I have had an awful day. Nibbled on kids leftovers ALL DAY. No times no plans just constant stream of rubbish. Feel miserable cos it was all working so well.

frustratedashell · 04/07/2018 20:52

Sorry to hear that Silver. It's only 1 day, forgive yourself and start again tomorrow. You can do it !

WrappedInBitsOfSilver · 05/07/2018 10:48

Thanks frustrated, yesterday was a bit better and I’m feeling calmer today. This is hard emotional work!
