I normally find it really difficult to stay on track but all that has to stop. Waiting for Dh to finish his 20min poo so I can weigh myself and draw a line against all my chocolate gobbling.

Anyone else fancy a fresh start?

Had no breakfast and for lunch it was salad and a small portion of chicken 198 calories, will be salad and Cajun chicken for tea tonight.
Just had a crap clothes shopping trip and now feel like a beached whale, not sure why I keep doing this to myself. There was a few bits I liked in Matalan went to try them on size 12 was fine in everything then I caught a glimpse of myself in my underwear in those 3d round view mirrors in the changing rooms, ended up buying nothing after that. The fat round my arse and thighs along with the flabby saggy tummy was enough to put me off, I looked fucking terrible not sure 1st 3lbs will be a big enough loss to get me looking ok.

ocelot41 · 13/03/2018 21:45

Careful folks, it sounds like some of you are eating under 1200 calories per day. That's really cutting it down too much and won't be sustainable. I don't know if what I am doing is working yet but it's a new approach for me. I am sick of yo-yo weight so am eating veggie 4 days a week and doing some serious portion control. No to any white carbs, so I am Ms brown rice and chick peas right now....

FiveNightsAtMummys · 14/03/2018 11:27

I'm not having a good day, I've got a really bad headache and I've got hairdressers and then few stressful meetings coming up. I'm having the day off today (just eating what I want not binge eating) food wise and will restart tomorrow but will introduce more carbs but not white ones as I felt hungry on the days I didn't have many carbs.

Hope everyone else is managing ok. If my scales are correct I've lost 5&1/4lb since last wed but I don't get weighed at group until next week so don't know if there is any difference in scales. If they are correct I'm pleased as I had a bad weekend food wise (asda pizza and McDonald's for mothers day tea, ice cream and maltrasters and Bakewell tart)

OhKnow70 · 15/03/2018 07:49

Had an alright day yesterday food wise. No breakfast, salad and chicken for lunch, gammon, peas, grilled mushrooms and grilled cherry toms. I had 2 choc chip cookies with a cup of tea in the evening. Trying to avoid the scales this week as my period is due at the weekend and I usually gain around 4-5lbs a few days before and it goes once I finish.

OhKnow70 · 15/03/2018 12:29

Just had salad and chicken for lunch, think dinner will be a quorn veggie burger with another salad and possibly a table spoon of grated cheese.

FiveNightsAtMummys · 15/03/2018 19:09

Went to gym this morning and yoga this afternoon. Had banana and a small slice of wholemeal toast for breakfast. For lunch it was salmon salad and dinner was tuna & low fat mayo sandwhich on small wholemeal bread some crisps. Got given a ripple today so will have that later. Hope everyone else is doing well & feeling good

ocelot41 · 15/03/2018 19:58

Lost first three pounds! Ok, so 2 of those probably fluid retention post AF. But I can count them all, right?

ocelot41 · 15/03/2018 20:00

Soba noodles, aubergine and mango for lunch (garlic, chilli, and lime dressing). Ratatouille and quinoa for tea. Waiting to see if the veggie approach really works but feeling good on it - and not starving/headachey like I normally do when I diet, which is great!

millimat · 15/03/2018 22:48

Can I join?
OP you could be me. Evening slums the same. I spent time thinking about when I'm home alone to have something to eat Blush
Every time I start again with weight loss I'm heavier than the time before. I know it will start affecting my health.
I've lost a decent amount on slimming world before, but really didn't find the consultant inspiring. Can I motivate myself on the online version?

millimat · 15/03/2018 22:50

I keep debating the 5:2 diet but suffer with headaches when low blood sugar, so would this affect me?

BoamFananas · 16/03/2018 07:26

Sorry Ive had a busy few days everyone seems to be doing great!

Pp is right though if you are not doing the 5:2 you should make sure you are eating enough calories.

I haven't been sticking to my shakes Blush but I have been walking loads and did 15k steps on weds which I haven't hit for a looong time!

OP posts:
BoamFananas · 16/03/2018 07:35

@millimat why don't you try 5:2 and see how you feel? Like most things weight loss is trial and error and you wouldn't be failing if it doesn't work for you.

The online sw depends on you and how disciplined you are as you won't have anyone to give u judgy looks keep an eye on you

Feeling jubilant! The largely veggie (plus portion control plus no white carbs, plus cutting right down on wine) thing is working! 5lbs down in a week, although realistically 2 of those will have been fluid retention post AF. But the best thing is I feel really well, not sick, hungry and headaches all the time like on previous diets. And I have yoyoed for flipping YEARS. In fact, I may go veggie half the week permanently - I think what I need is to change my relationship with food permanently, as I am really sick of the up down, up down...

BoamFananas · 18/03/2018 18:52

@ocelot41 that's fab! Well done!! 👍

ocelot41 · 19/03/2018 07:00

Thank you Boam I am dead chuffed. I needed to find a long term solution and I think I may have found one. I've also been doing a lot of thinking about what I am over eating for - what is it about my life which I feel deprived in, so I am overcompensating? For me I think it's stress, I work really hard and have a child with SN, so eating and drinking wine is the only treat left 'for me' at the end of the day. I need to think about how to change that. It's not good for me.

BoamFananas · 19/03/2018 07:31

There was a thing that stuck with me but I'm too lazy to google it this early! It was a thing saying you are not a dog and shouldn't have food as treats. Makes sense really!

I've lost 1.6lb this week, happy with that but hoping for 2lb next week if I'm going to make a dent before this wedding in may. Hoping for 2lb a week till then and after that 1lb a week till I get to target.

Good luck to anyone weighing today!

FiveNightsAtMummys · 21/03/2018 09:40

I'm getting weighed at group today. First weigh in! So it'll be 2 weeks loss (didn't go last week) I hope I've lossed something but I've still had alot of crap so I don't expect it to be much if I have. I've had since 1st weigh in..
2 McDonald's
1 take away
1 frozen pizza
1 asda pizza
1 Ice cream sunday
1 box of Malteaser
Some Bakewell tart
2 big bags of crisps
And then a little treat everyday like a 2 finger kit Kat etc. Apart from those ^ the meals I've had have been healthy the rest of the time and I've been to the gym 6 times in those 2 weeks, done yoga one day and kettle bells another day. I'll report back later after I've been weighed! Unless it's no loss then I'll be busy buying easter eggs to make myself feel better.

BoamFananas · 26/03/2018 03:24

Anyone still going?
