Facing out. It's not very big, but my tummy does sort of rest on the top of it a bit when I'm sitting. I'm very much an apple shape so my tummy is very flabby.

Bran, can you not take it off when sitting down?

Tommy - so glad it works again! I managed to spill a cup of coffee on my keyboard at work once. It worked again the next day!

Dont get the Argos one. Is is good but im on my fourth already as the holder keeps snapping. Maybe a sports shop one would be sturdier

I got mine at an outdoors/camping shop. It's a "Silva" and it works well. I originally went to a runners store, and they tried to sell me a "really accurate" one for £200 ! (can you imagine!!??). Told them I would happily live with a bit of inaccuracy, and promptly went off to the camping store. They had 3 different models all by the same manufacturer. I got the most expensive one for all of £12!

and me! ever since seeing the MacD one advertised on telly I've been dying to get one. I dropped large hints to dh that I want one for my birthday next week. Bet he hasnt noticed. Maybe I'll have a Big Mac for lunch tomorrow
