Petite people dieting

I've just signed up to a kind of clean eating diet plan. A couple of friends of mine have done it for the past month with great results. We all exercise probably 6 days a week.
It's all non processed and good fats etc. Two clean snacks a day and once a week you can have a treat meal. Portion sizes are worked out with the size of your palm/ fist/ thumbs etc method.
I've just put my dinner out and it's the same size as the tea I gave to my 5 year old 1 palm of meat and two fists of veg. 🙈 it's because I'm small I know but it was on one of the children's tea plates.
Petite girls, whaaaaa???!!
I'm signed up for the month now, I don't know if I'll make it?!
Last thing I had was a protein shake with greens and before that was a salad with half a baby avocado.

How much weight do you need to lose? That's a very low calorie count !

minimammy · 15/02/2018 20:37

About 10 lbs.
I know. I've been weepy today but just because of hunger.
Apparently it's not about calories and whilst I may have that one day another day could be 1300.

You shouldn't have to be hungry on a good diet. Have a look at the Paul Mackenna (I Can Make You Thin). It makes so much sense it has a silly title I'm slim not thin , I don't want to be thin but I lost the 3 stone I needed to on it ( I still do it to maintain).

Strongbeatsskinny · 16/02/2018 12:21

How many meals are you actually eating? If you only eating three times a day with two clean snacks then you’re probably under eating massively how much water are you drinking?

I and my clients will eat at least 4 meals a day and depending on goals up to six meals per day.

The plan you are doing seems pretty generic have you actually calculated your macros to your personal requirements? So you are hitting your protein and fats because if you’re on a generic plan the fat and protein might not be enough for you not to feel hungry. No diet plan should make you feel hungry as it’s no way to live and definitely not sustainable

fishonabicycle · 16/02/2018 19:26

950 is bloody ridiculous. No wonder you are starving.

minimammy · 16/02/2018 19:29

Thank you for answering @Strongbeatsskinny I'm having 3 meals a day and two clean snacks.
No dairy either.
Today's calories come to 745🤷🏻‍♀️
I've been told to not think about macros or calories just eat clean.
I was desperate for some 0% Greek yogurt ( it used to be a diet staple) so had a bit last night and got wrong for reaching for things. I should have had a banana or another handful of nuts.
No one else seems to be questioning this?
I started it because it's someone I've trained with for years, they have views on things usually ( food wise) that are the same as mine.

There are no measurements of food other than palm of protein, two fists of veg or a cupped hand of carbs, a thumb of fat, a fruit.

Tomorrow night I can have a treat meal and a couple of drinks. After weigh in. I'll be trolled after two!😆

Post of the year !!!!
I'm not religious but the Jews and Muslims must have a reason for not eating it.

clean eating is frankly a bilge fad.
Anything that cuts out a food group as big as dairy is not sustainable - unless it actively suggests the replacement.

However, if you are petite, chances are your TDEE will be a LOT lower than you realised (1200 is within normal bounds for light built 5'0" ) and the comparison with your childs tea should send a different message

0% yoghurt is vile over processed stuff
full fat is all of 6% FFS (when nuts are up to 40% fat)

minimammy · 16/02/2018 19:57

Fair enough on the Greek yogurt there. I can't even imagine what full fat yogurt tastes like!😆
I am finished my meals for the day and I can feel hunger building the thought of eating nuts🤢 maybe that's the idea.

Looking on iifym my tdee is1845.

OP posts:
TalkinPeace · 16/02/2018 21:34

TDEE 1845 : you must be very young
or overestimating your exercise.
What is your sedentary TDEE (I'm 5'5" and 52 and mine is 1500)

Real unprocessed "full fat" foods are FINE
Milk is all of 4%
Yoghurt 7%
Soured Cream 20%
but because they have FLAVOUR, you eat less

WellTidy · 16/02/2018 21:39

I am 5 foot 1 and 42yo and my TDEE is something like 1400 calories. I have a sedentary job but I walk for a good 40 minutes a day.

minimammy · 16/02/2018 23:28

Well I'm 39 but currently marathon training too.

OP posts:
minimammy · 16/02/2018 23:31

It's normally 1530

OuchLegoHurts · 16/02/2018 23:39

Sorry but 745 calories is a ridiculously low amount! You can lose loads of weight without restricting yourself like that. That is totally unsustainable.

Strongbeatsskinny · 17/02/2018 08:17

Unsustainable and totally madness and your marathon training oh gosh no wonder you feel so hungry. You need fuel to function you in actual fact are burning muscle and burning your body out.

I eat more than quadrupled the calories you are consuming and I am very petite in height with not an oz of fat.
