Demented · 15/07/2004 23:32

Welcome to week 28
We're glad we're losing much weight
There once was a time
When food was devine
But a struggle to fit through the gate!

Thanks ladymuck, tummy bug seems to have eased, I don't think it has been severe enough to put my body into starvation mode, so hopefully will help with the loss this week.

How is everyone else so far this week?

bunnyrabbit · 14/07/2004 10:03

Not bad. Have been relatively good, but still drinking lots of wine I'm afraid. Just can't get through the week without it.... haven't weighed myself since Sunday.....

How're you doing?

ladymuck · 14/07/2004 10:08

Trying to be good, but snacking seems to be a problem. At present I'm just justifying that I'm eating up all the unhealthy stuff so that there is no temptation left. Mainly snacking onf ruit though - which is OK but not ideal. Need some lunch ideas though...

LunarSea · 14/07/2004 12:08

Am doing ok ... at the moment. Judging by the last couple of weeks though I don't have any problem suddenly gaining 4lbs+ in a single day for no obvious reason. So although I think (or should that be hope?) that this week is going to make up for the last two disappointing ones (2lbs and nothing) I'm not holding my breath.

bunnyrabbit · 14/07/2004 12:54

But 2lbs is good and healthy!! I'd be happy with 2lbs....your just to demanding

Demented · 14/07/2004 20:17

OVER HERE!!!

Apologies, I have a friend who should be joining us tomorrow and want to make sure this doesn't fall off active conversations before then!

OP posts:
Demented · 15/07/2004 17:30

Yooo hooo!!!

OP posts:
DelGirl · 15/07/2004 17:48

Not been that good this week and am sure I haven't lost. I've been out and about a lot and visiting relatives too. However, I don't think i've gained either. It's been my star week this week as they say at SW and i've had mad cravings for carbs and just thought sod it tbh I haven't been that bad and intend to put my body and soul into it this coming week.

Demented - can you put me down as 0 this week, cheers!

DelGirl · 15/07/2004 17:50

meant to say that I didn't bother going to SW class to get weighed as I don't need a telling off just right now. The consultant is a bit of a one (only nice way I can think to describe her)

Demented · 15/07/2004 21:13

At least you didn't put any on Delgirl, you're still heading in the right direction.

I would like to say a big welcome to ArtyAlex, a very good friend of mine who has decided to join us, I think she must have been too nervous to post when she visited earlier, but it's good to have you on board and I look forward to hearing from you next week with your first loss!

I haven't had many weigh-in e-mails???

OP posts:
MadameButterfly · 15/07/2004 21:16

I weigh myself tomorrow, so will email you then.

LunarSea · 15/07/2004 21:50

I've been weighing last thing Thursday night - so I'll mail either just before I go to bed, or first thing in the morning Does everyone else do Thursday mornings then? I'll switch to fit in if you do. (Although if I have a bad week and get a better result on a Thursday morning I might be tempted to switch anyway one of these weeks!)

Demented · 15/07/2004 22:11

No, no, no need to switch to a Thursday morning, it's just I usually have about half the weigh-in e-mails in on a Thursday, if you don't weigh until Thursday night or Friday morning then Friday is fine (as long as it's before 5pm to make sure I've got your mail in time for preparing the announcement). Just really giving a gentle reminder to those who normally do mail me on a Thursday.

gothicmama · 15/07/2004 23:39

heres to a super slim week for us all

roisin · 15/07/2004 23:59

I've just made a load of pointless soup, in the hope that it will help me this week in the evenings.

I'm also enjoying Rowntree Fruit Pastille Lollies - just one point each, but really scrummy!

LunarSea · 16/07/2004 09:16

Well I've had a very good week(almost unbelievably good, but no matter how many time I move the scales around they're still reading the same). Actually perhaps it's not really so unbelievable, as it just brings the average/week for the last 3 weeks back to what it was for the few weeks before that.

BR - 2lbs/week on average is all I'm actually aiming at, though I'm not going to complain if I can lose more than that! It was just a bit disappointing last week that I'd actually eaten less AND exercised more than normal, but hadn't lost anything. Back on the frozen fruit this week though (wasn't in the office last week so did other low-cal alternatives) - perhaps that really is the secret ingredient?

I'll leave it to Demented to reveal the final figure!

MadameButterfly · 16/07/2004 14:15

I have stayed the same this week.

roisin · 16/07/2004 14:28

I've stayed the same again too, and am starting to get fed up. Can't break through the 10 stone barrier.

I wanted to try your tip Lunarsea, but none of our local supermarkets sell any frozen fruit, except berries (The trials of living oop north!)

Does anyone else have any good tips that don't involve joining a gym? (PS I already walk loads)

MUMINAMILLION · 16/07/2004 14:41

Hi Demented!

Just to say hello to everyone and to wish them all a good week.

Hope you didn't faint with shock at the revelation of my weight!! I did. Never mind, looking forward to a week where my will-power will be overwhelming. (Don't know which week that is going to be however!)

Demented · 16/07/2004 15:01

Hello Muminamillion, you found us then!

It's great to have you on board!

I haven't received your weigh-in mail yet but I'm sure it won't make me faint! Don't know if I mentioned but if you want to give me a target weight I can put that on the spreadsheet too, although if you don't have one, don't worry, it's not essential.

As far as motivation goes the Mumsnet Mamas members are the best! I'll just be falling off!!!

Will be back later with the announcement.

gothicmama · 16/07/2004 18:49

hi all lunarsea well done I have been norty and had abreak managed to put on 2lbs so back to it next week - need some motivation just feel really tired at the moment

DelGirl · 16/07/2004 18:57

WOW - that's fantastic Lunarsea. Please tell us all how you've managed it. Can you list what you eat in a day. Have you lost 9lb in 1 week? Sorry, haven't read all the threads

ladymuck · 16/07/2004 19:17

Well done Lunarsea - I hope that you are well chuffed, especially if you had been down about the previous result.

Not wishing to detract from your marvellous result I have found (in my short stint back on the pill and having some form of cycle again) that fluid retention etc makes a huge difference (well relatively I guess). Not saying that was the case here, but sometimes it did feel as if I had had no result for my efforts and then suddenly it all catches up!

And well done on the overall result too!
