HI Demented rather rudely forgot to congratulate you last week so here goes as a boost for this week. Well done and hope it is going ok.

Demented · 13/06/2004 19:09

Thankyou Glitterfairy, not rude at all. In fact I am due a couple of people e-cards so apologies to those people, life is overtaking me at the moment and my Mumsnet time is probably at the lowest it has ever been!

Hey Demented, 2 big ones!!! Well done. It's all that worrying about undelivered parcels

Am feeling very depressed. Don't seem to have lost any more weight. Have been so good too. Just refused a doughnut. Off to eat melon and whinge.....

BR

LunarSea · 15/06/2004 12:21

Melon for lunch here too BR. Have been very good and stuck to it religiously for the last 5 weeks (barring one weekend away) but I'm now longing for bread and cheese (and a nice glass of wine to wash it down). Have promised myself a day off from the diet in a couple of weeks time as will be going to an event which involves involves walking around all day long, interspersed with free samples of lots of lovely cheeses (and other foods) being handed out. Am trying to presuade myself that all the walking will offset the extra calories, and surely I can't do too much damage in teh course of one day?

bunnyrabbit · 15/06/2004 12:42

eerrr actually Lunarsea, melon was a snack, chicken salad for lunch.. how do you survive on just melon?? I'm feel guilty for having a slald now arghhhh

BR

bunnyrabbit · 15/06/2004 12:44

and yes you're allowed a day off with out feeling guilty. Enjoy the day and then back on the diet the day after, no recriminations no guilt.

IMHO

Ok BR - I confess..... it wasn't JUST melon. Two types of melon, plus also had pineapple, papaya, guava, pear, apple, grapes and orange. And loads of it - a whole tub full which (frozen) is about 400-450g when I've weighed it out occasionally. That's as much as I can eat at lunchtime, and as it only takes a few seconds to fill the tub (I have a freezer which is well stocked with frozen fruit and I just have to scoop it out) I do actually bother to bring it with me, rather than getting lazy about making my own lunches and ending up with bought sandwiches. And because it starts off frozen and doesn't defrost until lunchtime I can't really cheat and nibble at it earlier either. So far it seems to be working quite well...

bunnyrabbit · 15/06/2004 13:24

Hey that's a really good idea.... where do you get the frozen fruit from?

BR

LunarSea · 15/06/2004 13:31

BR - big 2.5kg bags of melon/pineapple/papaya/guava are from Makro (about £5 a bag - would do 6 days). The melon/pear/apple/grapes/orange combo is from Farmfoods (£1 per 450g bag). Shop around and you'll probably find other frozen fruit salad combos as well. I keep other frozen fruit too - rhubarb has hardly any calories if you happen to like it without sugar - (2 bags for £1 at Farmfoods), and frozen raspberries (£1.25 for 340g from Farmfoods) are much cheaper than fresh. You can't beat fresh in-season British strawberries though - I ate a whole punnet yesterday!

bunnyrabbit · 15/06/2004 13:35

Excellent. I have a Farmfoods near me and will raid it at the weekend.... now I've just got to make room in the freezer and remember to bring it to work with me!!

bunnyrabbit · 15/06/2004 13:36

Is this your secret to losing 1 1/2 stone????

LunarSea · 15/06/2004 13:43

Yep!

Demented · 15/06/2004 14:36

LOL BR!

Great tip Lunarsea, especially in the summer, sounds yummy!

eerrr with being too blunt about it, does eating all that fruit have an effect on your tummy?

Or is this why you lose so much weight?????

BR

LunarSea · 15/06/2004 16:25

Nope - no noticeable effect at all.

bunnyrabbit · 16/06/2004 09:17

I am so stupid. Had pizza last night. Only two pieces and two pices of garlic bread but now I feel really s**t. All that being good for now reason..... sigh. Will I never learn.

BR

Demented · 16/06/2004 19:17

I had a chicken tikka takeaway last night and when I do that I should be really good the next day but ... I've been to a friend's house and had chocolate cake!

mmm curry mmmmmmm

roisin · 17/06/2004 11:42

I'm feeling dead chuffed - at the school gate today someone commented on how much weight I've lost, how striking it is, and asking how I did it. She's not a close friend, and I've not really told people about it either, so it's great to think it's actually making a visible difference

(I've also started work, so am more likely to be in 'proper' clothes, rather than slobby sacks which makes a difference too).

bunnyrabbit · 17/06/2004 11:47

Good for you roisin

BR

LunarSea · 17/06/2004 11:48

Way to go Roisin - that's a great feeling isn't it, when people start to notice? (Says she - who hasn't had anyone say it to her yet!)

roisin · 17/06/2004 12:11

Thank you!

I feel a bit guilty Lunarsea, because I've never ever said that to anyone ever ... I'm just not a very visual person, and I never actually notice haircuts, weight loss, new glasses, anything like that:- I'm hopeless. All my family are too. My parents are coming over on Sunday; Since we last saw them (6wks) I've lost 16 lb, and dh has lost 27 lb ... but I bet they won't notice at all. That's not a moan btw, it's just the way we are! We are very in tune with how people are feeling, and contentedly oblivious of what anyone looks like!

DelGirl · 17/06/2004 18:34

Lost 1/2 lb again this week. Got on the scales this morning and it was alot better than that so a bit disappointed. Mind you I did eat my 'lunch' just before the weigh in at 5.30 together with a large glass of diet coke so maybe that's what it was or maybe it was the cream tea I had after the lunch . Still, 1/2 lb is 1/2lb! Good luck to all of you. Must get the next lb off before next week.

LunarSea · 17/06/2004 22:30

I've had quite a good week this week - have even managed to get out an my bike (pulling ds in the bike trailer), and go dry slope skiing, and have bought one of those mini trampolines (ostensibly as a garden toy for ds) which I've been having a go on too when nobody is watching! And tonight.... wait for it.... down .... .... count them .... yes FIVE lbs.

DelGirl · 17/06/2004 23:05

thats brilliant - well done lunarsea
