Brilliant, WWB, well done!

JackieNo · 28/11/2006 14:18

.

WigWamBam · 28/11/2006 14:26

Was that subtle enough, do you think?

It'll be just my luck if a certain person decides tonight is the night she hasn't got much else to do so might just log on to MN for ten minutes ...

Let's hope not. She's quite busy atm ...

WigWamBam · 28/11/2006 14:39

Her website is fabulous, isn't it.

Happy Birthday to Daniel for tomorrow ...

Hello everyone!! I've been away for a few days so haven't seen the other horrible thread (can call it horrible even though I haven't seen it 'cos it's upset WWB so it must be..!).

Hub - yes, I got my 10% keyring a few weeks ago! I'm doing OK - I got my 10% by losing 23lbs and I'm up to 26lbs now - my goal is to lose 44lbs, so over half way there. I'd love to lose it by the Spring - ds2's birthday in April is my target - but the past couple of weeks have been hard work. I'm dreadful when I'm away with work, which thankfully doesn't happen too often - I revert back to eating crap at airports/hotels/train stations etc.etc... But will keep going to WW as it's definitely working for me - and back on the wagon from tomorrow!

hub2dee · 28/11/2006 22:24

That's really really good, dd. Well done. I'm stalled about 3 or 4 pounds away from it and have probably put on at least a couple more in the last week or two of laxness. Still, we're going this week and I'm gonna sort an induction at the new gym and start going there, so hopefully the New Year should see a nice pile come off.

MrsJohnCusack · 28/11/2006 22:25

wow - well done on all that Dotty!

and well done WWB for the purchasing - v.exciting. I love reading Sue's site - it should be published as a book.

Fauve · 29/11/2006 00:23

I really wonder if I should be doing WeightWatchers - you guys are really doing well on it, congratulations! I had to give up Rosemary Conley prematurely because a) it was very tedious and dismal queuing to be weighed and b) it clashed with The Apprentice But I've never tried WW. Might be worth a go? Matt Lucas (Little Britain) was on Desert Island discs on Sunday saying he loved going to WW - when he was a child . Anything good enough for him is good enough for me.

JackieNo · 29/11/2006 14:57

It's Daniel's birthday today - let's all go and wish him Happy Birthday. Hope they're having a party.

JackieNo · 29/11/2006 16:35

Almost forgot it's weigh-in day. Have put on 2 pounds. But it's not exactly unexpected. I have been eating too much sweet stuff, and larger portions of things. Although today my cold has taken away my ability to taste things, and it's much easier to be 'good' when there's no pleasure in eating.

coppertop · 29/11/2006 18:40

I've stayed the same again.

Congratulations, Dot!

Happy birthday to little Daniel.

littlemisssensible · 29/11/2006 21:54

hi All,
I've stayed the same this week which I'm rather pleased about after all the celebrating I've been doing!!!

And having caught up with monday's chat I wanted to appologise for being a size 16 but in my defense I like it here 'cos I got fed up with reading about size 10's and 12's moaning about how discusting they look since they put on 1/2lb!!!! Ok I'm exagerating but you know what I mean...its all relative!

Seriously, I know how depressing it can be WWB when someone much smaller than yourself complains they look horrible, I just try to remind myself that they are talking about themselves not me... and then like you I avoid those threads in future

justamum · 29/11/2006 23:15

WWB, I've done it again! I only just remembered that I emailed you when I came on here, honestly I have the memory of an amnesiac goldfish. I have my chequebook in front of me so I will do it now before I go to bed and forget again.
Whats the other thread? I haven't seen it but i get the general gist. I had a similar conversation with a friend over the weekend, she is probably heading for a size 30+ but always looks fantastic and we had this wierd (drunken)conversation where both of us were saying the other one looked great but we both thought ourselves looked awful. It ended up with my sister telling us we both looked good and that we should shut up being negative.(the funny thing is that later on that night she was mistaken for Dawn French and everybody (fat & skinny) thought that was a compliment)
I think the moral of that story is that its all about self worth and seeing what our friends and family see. I think I am coming to realise that while I have never judged anyone by their appearance I find it hard to believe that other people are as open minded, some aren't, but I think most people care more about personality at the end of the day. Sometimes when you meet someone who is exceptionally big it is hard to see past it at first but then as long as they are a nice person you just see them. I work with one of the biggest men i have ever seen, but he is so confident all the women just adore him and flirt shamelessly with him and no one cares about his size. Maybe I've just been lucky and met nice people.

Dottydot · 30/11/2006 08:58

oops - forgot to post yesterday that I put on 1lb this week... Never mind - here's hoping for a better week!

WigWamBam · 30/11/2006 10:42

Dawn French is gorgeous, justamum - plus she knows exactly what to wear, her hair is always immaculate ... I think it's a confidence thing - she has the confidence to get out there and do what she does regardless of her size, and a real "so what?" attitude instead of apologising for her size as so many of us do.

As someone who is exceptionally large I have to say that it would be nice if more people could/would see past the size to what's underneath; sadly most people don't bother because they already have so many preconceptions of what I will be like because of my size. Obviously those who take the time to talk to me find out pretty quickly that I'm pretty far removed from the stereotype, but my experience is that the majority of people don't bother. It's their loss, but it's not particularly pleasant!

Anyway, here's the figures:

Coppertop: stayed the same (total -10lb)
DottyDot: +1 (total -13.5lb)
Fauve: +1 (total -12lb)
JackieNo: +1 (total 31lb)
Lemonaid: -1.5lb (total 22lb)
LittleMissSensible: stayed the same
WWB: stayed the same (total 18lb)

So Lemonaid, as the only person who's actually lost anything at all this week, gets the crown , the rest of us get a kick up the backside!
