Walking to lose weight

I've down loaded an app to count my steps and started on Wednesday. So far

Wednesday 7080
Thursday 7305
Friday 10021
Saturday 10097
Today 7045 so far

No weight lost, unless you count 0.2kilos, but I have aggravated my back and knee injury though it isn't too bad. I've also done two 30 minute stepping on the wii which is in the step total.

DH thinks walking 10000 steps a day - lots of which are just walking round in a loop through my downstairs - is not how I'm going to lose weight.

I've read enough times one needs to walk 10000 steps a day to lose weight to believe it was the way to go. Is it not?

I nearly cried when I saw how bad my stomach was but I have had two cooked meals today which is not usual, and would love to lose two stone. Not realistic I know. I'm hating myself, wanting to eat for comfort and feel useless.

I've tried proper pedometers as well and will dig one out. I'm mostly eating 1200 for five days a week. I cook from scratch when I'm not eating set foods and find that hard to log the food.

I used to like swimming and was quite good but hate the cold and wetness of it. I would love to run.

THAT WOULD BE GREAT Bath, oops caps lock. Have come home to an emergency so can't leave the house. Burglar alarm going off, half the power off. Eventually got the power back on to discover the washer picked up where it had left off and was giving off a burning smell and I think I saw smoke. That's now off. I've got a headache. DS is banished to the upstairs and I'm wondering what to do now.

Just used the Wii and ran for 28 minutes. Headache seems to have gone and I'm up to 6815 steps. Going to walk to meet the dcs off the school bus so should make the target today. Wii said burnt 137 calories. Do I eat those back and am I still aiming for 1200 a day? I would like to be ten stone but know a slow steady loss is more likely to stay off, I just wish it wasn't so slow! 11stone 10.8 this morning.

It's a good time of year to start swimming and avoid that cold wet hair/clod wet weather thing!
