anyone ever been to any OA meetings? I think it is something that I would probably benefit from, but I really don't know what to expect. Am nervous I guess Sad

Hello, yes I have! I have been a member (or fellow) of OA since September last year. I went to one mtg in real life and then carried on online for a bit. I recently went back as childcare options came up.

It is totally different to anything I've done before but it works for me and many others. Go along and try it - they will be welcoming and understand exactly where you are coming from.

Also don't be put off by the god references. I am atheist and have found it still works for me. I have been lucky not to binge at all since I started.

I didn't say what to expect! Meetings may start with a 'share' where someone talks about their OA journey (not a newcomer). Or there might be a reading from OA literature. Then everyone gets the chance to talk briefly but only if they want to.

There is often a newcomer rep who can help you out.

Do PM me if you have further questions.
